Leather & Faux Fur

fashion blogger style

.......

It may technically be Spring, but it sure doesn't feel like it. The knitwear and scarves aren't going anywhere just yet so I've been embracing this combination recently. I love wearing this chunky knit from Zara as its thick material keeps me cosy but the colour adds a touch of spring to an outfit. Another piece I've been loving recently is my faux fur stole from Boohoo. I think it adds a touch of sophistication to an outfit, and not to mention how soft and cosy it is!

I added my leather look trousers from Vero Moda and a pair of converse to add a "cool" casual vibe. I love these trousers as they're comfortable on, which was a problem I had trying to find a pair of leather look trousers - a lot of them felt tight and the material clung to me, but this pair is quite stretchy. Although, in saying that, they are quite loose on me which you can see. I'm finding it very hard to get jeans to fit me lately - they're either too tight or too loose. I might try River Island's jeans because I've heard nothing but good things about them or else I might pick up another pair from Topshop - they fit me the best!

What's your favourite style piece at the moment?

12 People To Follow On Snapchat

Friday, 4 March 2016

..........

Snapchat is fast becoming one of my favourite social media platforms, even pipping Instagram to the post! It's no secret that I'm obsessed with Instagram - I post at least once a day and sometimes more! But there's a new love interest in my life and he goes by the name Snapchat. I started recording those chatty style videos last summer but I stopped doing it for a while due to exam stress. But last week I decided to start them back up again because they're so much fun! Although, I do have to admit, the one annoying thing about SC is that it's impossible to find new people to follow. So, seeing as it's #FollowFriday, I thought I'd put together a little long list of my favourites.....

1. laudempmakeup
First up is the beautiful Laura Dempsey. I started following Laura a few weeks ago and I've been hooked on her makeup tutorials ever since. She is seriously talented at makeup and her brows are goals *insert heart eye emoji* I also love seeing her makeup hauls and new products she's trying. She's so bubbly and chatty on her Snapchat and she's a joy to watch!

2. chasingrubychat
Erin is another fellow Irish blogger who has a great beauty and lifestyle blog. I love her beauty reviews on her blog as well as her makeup tutorials and vlogs on her Youtube channel. She also writes about mental health over on her blog and she chats about it on Snapchat every now and then. Mental health is something very close to my heart so I think it's great that she's able to speak about it.

3. penneystoprada
If you read my favourite Instagram accounts blog post, then you'll already know how much I love Emer and her blog. She's always so positive on her Snapchat and watching her snaps always brighten up my day. I also love her bedroom decor and her Penneys hauls always have me feeling spendy!

4. jasminehmakeup
I've followed Jasmine's blog since around the time she first started her blog and I've loved it ever since. I always check her blog religiously to see her latest reviews and beauty recommendations, so I was delighted when she started a Snapchat. She shares her favourite products as well sharing her thoughts on new products she's trialling. Definitely one to follow if you love all things beauty related!

5. shapesndshadows

Amy is the newest member to my Snapchat feed and I'm loving her daily snaps! She chats about her favourite beauty products and often does makeup tutorials. This morning she shared her thoughts so far on the new Penneys skincare range and I have to say it looks amazing! I love her honest, in-depth reviews and her makeup tutorials are incredibly helpful. She's off to Paris soon and I'm dying to see those snaps!

6. toodollymakeup

Jen is also a recent follow of mine and I must've been living under a rock to not know about her Snapchat! Her makeup is always flawless and eye looks are always breathtaking! I wish I had her talent! I also love when she lip sings - it's so funny! Jen has such a fun personality and so I can always count on her Snapchat story to be really fun and enjoyable. Perfect viewing material for if you've had a bad day!

7. squidgemundo
Kathleen is an amazing travel blogger so she'll definitely pass the travelling bug onto you ;-) Her recent video about New York makes me want to go back so much! She also blogs about beauty and fitness and I love that she has such a variety of different posts on her blog - there's something for everyone! Her Snapchat has been one of my favourites since I first got my account. She's so funny at times and she's always up for a chat. Her positivity is a breath of fresh of air and she always motivates me to workout. Couldn't recommend her account enough!

8. devotedtopink

Leah is a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger from England. I love her everyday style and her makeup always looks beautiful. She has a gorgeous Instagram feed and her beauty reviews on her blog are always very informative. I love watching her snaps about her everyday life and she's such a nice girl! Definitely worth a follow!

9. makeupbylisa

Lisa is a freelance makeup artist and she posts makeup tutorials as well as sharing her favourite products on Snapchat. I always pick up great tips from Lisa and her tutorials are always easy to follow and recreate. After seeing how she applies her Penneys individual lashes, I've been on the hunt for them myself! If you're looking for makeup tips and inspiration then Lisa is the one to follow!

10. alison2630
Alison is one of the nicest girls in the blogging community. She's so positive and she's always supporting other bloggers. Her beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog has a bit of everything on it and her posts are always so well written. As for her Snapchat, she chats about general life and she shares her favourite products also. Alison is very consistent on Snapchat - there's lots to view in her story!

11. charlenefmakeup

Charlene is another fantastic makeup artist. She explains the basics of makeup really well and her contour tutorial was really simple and easy to understand. I love seeing what new products she's trying out because she always manages to convince me to pop a few things onto my wish list. I love her but I can't say the same for my bank balance ;-) I also love her dog, Ella - so cute!

12. thebeauttruth
And last but by no means least, is the beautiful Sinéad. Her blog is a favourite of mine and I'm loving her snaps! She's a brilliant beauty blogger and she reviews products on her Snapchat - she's very honest and I can always trust her reviews. She has such a funny and bubbly personality, I can't help but smile when I watch her snaps. She's also pregnant at the moment and she looks incredible!

Annnnd breath.... That was a long list so thank you if you made it this far!

I've been posting lots on Snapchat too - I mainly post about my daily outfits and sometimes, I like to share my favourite products too. Username: clionahill

how to wear mustard

.........

Mustard is not a colour I thought I'd ever wear, but my latest fashion goal is to start experimenting with my style. It's my Spring mission! I feel like I've been stuck in a rut style wise recently and with the new season approaching, it's time to shake things up a bit. I thought I'd start off with something simple, and so I went for a bold colour that I never thought of wearing. I've always liked mustard on other people but for some reason I thought it wouldn't suit me. But I was pleasantly surprised to find it suits my pale skin and brunette hair perfectly. I'll definitely be experimenting with my style over the next few months because after all......

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone"

I picked this jumper up in the Zara January sales for around €10! It's perfect for the Spring/Summer months ahead as it has a very light material. It's loose and slouchy making it comfortable for everyday wear. It's also cropped so it goes well with a comfy pair of high-waisted jeans.
I also got the skirt in the Zara sale. I love the quality of it: the material feels really heavy and thick which is amazing for the cold weather here in Ireland. I also tied the whole look together with my grey skull scarf from H&M. This is a really thin, small scarf so it almost looks like a necktie. This is also very different for me as I normally like to wear thick, chunky scarves. But I love it and I can't help but feel a little bit like Audrey Hepburn in it ;-)

In other news, it's been a busy few weeks! We had my sister's engagement party last weekend and it was so much fun. I spent the whole of the mid-term just relaxing as I was exhausted after my exams. But the engagement party was a nice way to end the break. We went to a boat restaurant on the Liffey and it was amazing! I also did my first scope on Periscope and I'm officially hooked! I've also been very active on Snapchat too, so although I probably won't be able to post too much on my blog, I'll still be very active across all my social media so make sure you're following all the fun ;-) My username is @clionahill :-)

What are you afraid to wear?
And what colours will you be adding to your Spring wardrobe?

When Life Becomes Stressful......

Instagram diary blog post

........

It's been a long time since I've last blogged - a whole month! I've never been away from my blog for that length of time before, but sometimes life just gets in the way. I struggled to be away from the blog for so long and I've felt really unhappy over the last few weeks. But now that I actually have the time, I'm lost for words. I've tried to write at least a dozen different posts at this stage ranging from beauty to fashion, to lifestyle, but I decided to strip it back and just have a little chat. It's been a stressful few weeks but there has been a few little things perking me up and I thought I'd share them to get my blogging juices flowing once again......

1. Netflix Marathons: Well, I wouldn't call them marathons as of late, but you gotta have a study break every now and then! And I don't think anyone would disagree that an hour of Netflix can really do the world of good. Okay, exercise or fresh air or reading a book would probably be better, but everyone has to have their Netflix fix ;-) Recently, I've been loving 'How To Get Away With Murder' and 'Revenge'. I'm looking forward to just chilling this week and watching episode after episode!

2. A New Phone: I upgraded my old iPhone to the rose gold iPhone 6! I couldn't get the photo of it into the collage because I took it on my other phone and then lost it when I reset the phone *oops* But you can see it over on my Instagram and as you can probably tell I'm in rose gold heaven. At this stage my room is decked out in copper and rose gold stuff, so why not complete the collection with my phone *wink wink* But other than the look of it, it's a whole lot better than my other one and the camera quality is insane - I hardly ever take Instagram photos with my camera now!

3. A New Lipstick: And the last thing that's been getting me through my exams is buying a new lipstick. My goal for this year was to save more and I'm happy to say I've been sticking to it. I haven't bought anything since the Christmas sales! Cliona: 1 - Shops: 0
But to celebrate the end of my mocks, I'll be treating myself to a new lipstick. I ran a poll on Twitter as I couldn't decide for myself ;-) Charlotte Tilbury got the highest amount of votes so I'll be headed to her counter on Saturday *insert all of the excited emojis*

My plans for my week off include lots of relaxing and taking care of myself. I've been feeling quite exhausted and run down, and my sinusitis has been flaring up again. So I'm taking it as a sign that I need to rest and chill out. I've lots of blogging planned too so stay tuned......
