Flashback Friday: New Year's in NYC!

In 2012, my family and I welcomed the New Year in style in New York City!! It was everything I expected and more, so, I thought I'd share some of my favourite memories from the trip with you. To this day, I STILL miss New York! It was just so magical and christmassy. I wanted to go since I was about 6 years old, so, as you can imagine I was over the moon to finally get to go! Enjoy and let me know in the comments if you've ever been to New York.

These pictures were taken on our first night in NYC:

(Times Square!!)

We stayed in the Double Tree Hilton Hotel on Lexington Avenue. It was a really nice hotel to stay in, on our arrival, we got warm chocolate chip cookies. They were delicious!! :-)

On our second day, we went on the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue Of Liberty. It was freezing that day. It even snowed! We got to see the city so clearly on that ferry and it was free. Bonus!!

That night we went to Serendipity 3. It was probably the coolest restaurant that I've been to! Kim Kardashian is a fan of this restaurant, she has tweeted and put photos on instagram of their famous frozen hot chocolate. It was even in the movie "One Fine Day" and "Serendipity".I got the classic Frrrrozen Hot Chocolate and it was so nice! Just thinking about them is making me really hungry right now ;-)

Obviously, we couldn't go to New York and not visit Central Park! We were so lucky that it snowed that day because it made Central Park look even more  beautiful than it already is.

We found this cute little quote hidden under snow on a bench.

We had so much fun in F.A.O Schwarz! I felt like a kid again ;-) It was so much cooler than any of the toy shops that we have in Ireland.

New Year's Eve:

During the day, we went to Soho, the "F.R.I.E.N.D.S" building, the high line and the chelsea market.
I'm obsessed with the tv show "friends", so, it was really cool to see the building. I also bought a friends mug and a ton of other merchandise. It just HAD to be done! ;-) In the evening, we went out for dinner and had the best cheesecake ever!

My favourite day of the trip was definitely New Year's Day! We went to the American Museum Of Natural History, Grand Central Station and Magnolia Bakery. I got a vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream and a chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream. They were SO nice!! Mmmm.... I'm probably going to dream about those cupcakes tonight ;-)

My biggest highlight of the trip was going to see a broadway show!! We went to see "Nice Work If You Can Get It" starring Matthew Broderick and Kelly O'Hara. It was a brilliant show, so funny and Matthew Broderick was brilliant in it.

So, that's it for another blog post. I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Love,
Cliona x
