Accessories Haul // Parfois, Bershka & Zara!

I've been doing a lot of shopping over the past few weeks! So, you know what that means... A haul post. Let's face it, who doesn't love a good haul? I've been buying everything from jellwery to scarfs, belts and bags.

The first place I went to was Parfois, which by the way is my new favourite shop. I've ordered from them online a couple of times but I had never been into one of their shops before I visited it in Portugal. I was like a kid in a sweet shop when I saw all of the stunning bags and the beautiful jewellery sparkling in the light. For a while there was only one Parfois in Dublin airport and then last December they branched out to Jervis shopping centre and only a couple of weeks ago they opened up in Swords and Blanchardstown. I'm delighted to see them opening more stores because they have beautiful pieces that aren't over priced. I'm so fussy when it comes to bags, whenever I'm on the hunt for a new bag I always seem to visit loads of shops but can never find anything decent. Gone are the days of searching for hours on end, I can just pop into Parfois and I know that I'll come away with a bag that I'll probably end up falling in love with (It's happened before and I have no doubt it'll happen again and again!) I could spend a whole blog post declaring my love for Parfois but I'll move on to talking about what I bought ;-)

If you've been reading my blog for a while then you'll know that me and scarves are best friends ;-) Seriously, I can't resist scarves - They're my weakness! I noticed that I haven't been wearing as many scarves lately and that's down to the fact that most of my scarves are quite wintery. So when I saw how bright and summery this scarf was I just couldn't resist the urge to add it to my collection. And for only €9.99, I really couldn't have done any better!

The first jewellery item I picked up was a silver and pink statement necklace for only €9.99! I couldn't believe it when I saw the price tag, it looks way more expensive than a tenner in my opinion. Statement necklaces are my favourite type of necklaces to wear at the moment. They're such a simple way to make a very plain outfit come to life.  The next thing I picked up was this simple, silver bracelet for €6.99. I really like this bracelet because it actually FITS my wrist. I have a tiny wrist so I always find it impossible to get bracelets that don't fall off my arm. Another thing I love about it is, there's a magnet to open and close it so theres no faffing about with small clasps (the bane of my life!). And the last piece of jewellery I got from Parfois was this cute, little string bracelet. I actually had a very similar bracelet that I bought in a market in Nice but I lost it, so I was delighted to be able to get something so similar! I love the colours in it, it's a very summery bracelet.

Ahh my biggest purchase of this haul and probably my favourite is this peacock tote bag. This was €26.99 which isn't bad at all for a handbag, especially considering the size of it. It's huge, it's so big you could in fact fit the kitchen sink into it ;-) I absolutely love the design on it, it's so unusual and it goes with most of the things in my wardrobe.

When I saw this statement necklace in Zara reduced to €14.99 I couldn't just leave it on the shelf.  My collection of statement necklaces will be bursting if I keep this up. But I would have been silly not to nab this beauty up while it was a fraction of the original price. The next purchase I made was from good ol' Penneys/Primark! I got this beige belt with a silver buckle detail on the front for only €3! Oh how I do love the summer sales ;-) I originally got this to go with a kimono I picked up (Outfit post headed your way soon!) but I actually like it way more than I thought and I've been planning lots of other outfits I could wear this with.

Aww last item :-( I hate coming to the end of a blog post but the fun has to end sometime, doesn't it? ;-) Anyway, the last thing I bought was this set of gold rings from Bershka. I love dainty gold rings but like bracelets I find it very hard to get some that fit my tiny little fingers. I tried Bershka on a whim and I was over the moon when they fit onto my fingers! I was even happier when I looked at the price tag and saw that they were only €4.99. It's safe to say that I'll definitely be returning to Bershka for future ring purchases!

What have you bought recently?

Lip Crayon Lovin' | Summer Shades

I have a bit of a weakness when it comes to lip products. I just can't seem to walk by any makeup counters without picking up at least one lip product! I could never just stick to one or two - I have to have a different shade nearly everyday! So, today I thought I'd share my three most reached for lip products at the moment and funnily enough they're all lip crayons. Obsessed? I think so! Lip crayons are something that I never would have thought I'd like. I've always just stuck to regular old lipstick and lipgloss. But a good few months ago the Bourjois colour boost lip crayons completely converted me. Here are three of my favourite shades for the summer.....

Sephora glossy lip pencil in 'Glossy pink' - I love this sparkly pink shade. It's so pretty! It's perfect for a natural, everyday makeup look. It has a lovely creamy texture, it glides on effortlessly and gives a sheen finish with a hint of shimmer. It smells like cherry bubblegum (yum!), a little bit goes a long way and it feels very light on the lips. It's not the best lip crayon I've tried but it's good nonetheless. I purchased it when it was on sale for €6! So, it was great for that price!

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 205 'Elusive' - This is a recent addition to my collection. I'm not a huge matte fan to be honest..... I'm hands down a gloss girl but this balm completely converted me. I think it actually looks quite dark and autumnal when it's swatched but I find when I put it on my lips it's actually quite light, subtle and a beautiful summer shade. It glides on to the lips so smoothly and it also has a gorgeous mint scent which smells good enough to eat! They cost €10.99 and they've got 10 different shades to choose from. I can't wait to try out some more shades!

Bourjois Colour Boost lip crayon in 'Peach on the Beach' - This bad boy is no stranger to my blog! I've talked about it before and I'll talk about it again.... I just love it that much! This is a gorgeous peachy pink colour. They are incredibly moisturising and the colour pay off is excellent. They are so pigmented and they have an SPF 15. This is definitely my favourite of the three. I can't wait to get my hands on some more -  'Orange punch' is next on my list to try!

These lip crayons are fantastic! They're long lasting, very moisturising and they are quick and convenient to use. They are also twistable so there's no hassle with sharpening them.

Are you a fan of lip crayons too? What are your favourites?

Guest Post // Anxiety Talk With Kate

Hi, I'm Kate from Kate's Perks blog. Me and Cliona decided to do something a little bit different today. We're going to talk about anxiety, here is my experiences with it. You can find Cliona's on my blog.

I guess I should start by explaining what anxiety is. It is a term used for some disorders that cause nervousness, fear and worry. For me, I actually only realised I had anxiety this year when I started to go to councilling for a completely other reason. It wasn't until I realised that I have anxiety that situations from my childhood began to make a lot more sense.

For me it mainly involves social situations. Simple things such as ringing somewhere to make an appointment, finding ordering food at a restaurant a daunting experience, counting my money a million times before I go up to pay for something, covering my body up when I'm in public or even a friends house and sometimes even worrying people are laughing about me behind my back. It's simple situations like this that cause huge worry in my life.

It has only started to effect my life recently, with my friends now starting to go out to nightclubs, driving around with my friends driving the car, learning to drive myself, doing well in school, going out to dinner with friends more, going to the cinema and going to concerts. Most of the time these situations lead to me completely overthinking and rarely (thank god) it leads to a panic attack. I know some people might ask why I freak out, I can only explain why I do, everyone is different (keep that in mind please). For me it's pretty simple, I think of everything that could possibly go wrong. That could be a friend getting too drunk and hurting herself, having people give out to me, failing a test and disappointing my dad and mainly someone getting hurt, badly hurt. My mind over thinks every situation which leads to a huge sense of fear and worry.

All of these things add up and for me it makes change a bit difficult. I have been working on it, I am trying. I just want to say if you feel like you can agree with how I feel and it's really effecting your life please talk to someone, EVEN if it's just to me or a friend. Also for anyone with friends who do suffer with anxiety please NEVER force them to do anything. NEVER tell them to get over it. DON'T tell them it's no big deal and they shouldn't be making such a big deal about it. Finally never laugh at them if they have a panic attack.

I hope this helps anyone who has anxiety or even if it helps a friend of someone with anxiety understand better. Hope you enjoyed this post.

Lots of love,
Kate xx

#SummerBloggerChallenge | Summer Fashion Trends

Hi girls and welcome back to the Summer Blogger Challenge! This week it's all about summer trends. I've decided to write about 3 of my favourite summer fashion trends and I've also picked my top two items that are in stores at the moment from each trend. I'll be talking about two must have prints, denim shorts and kimonos..... I hope you like my picks!

               Vero Moda shorts - €24.95                                            Boohoo playsuit - €16

Various different prints hit the shops every summer but this year the tropical and fruit prints have been extremely popular so far. After all, nothing screams Summer more than a bold tropical or fruit print! These shorts from Vero Moda are a gorgeous example of the tropical print.... The coral colour is beautiful for the summer and it seems to be very popular at the moment. As the shorts are quite eye catching, I'd let them be the focal point of the outfit and pair it with a simple white t-shirt, nude sandals and dainty gold jewellery.
How cute is this pineapple playsuit? And it's only €16! Bargain or what?! It's perfect for throwing over a bikini if you're going away on holidays but if not then you could pop on a black leather jacket, a black floppy hat and a pair of black ankle boots and you'll have a great summery yet appropriate outfit for the Irish/Uk summer.

Zara denim shorts - €27.95                                        Topshop denim shorts

Denim shorts are always a key piece in my summer wardrobe. I always bring them away on holidays as they're just so handy because they go with everything so I know I'll always get lots of wear out of them. Pair them with a crop top and a pair of sandals and you can create an effortless, casual look or if you want a dressier look you could replace the sandals with a pair of wedges and add a statement necklace. You can also pop on a pair of tights underneath them and you'll be set for the lovely, rainy weather ;-)
I love these high waisted shorts from Topshop - the light wash is perfect for the summer and they're also perfect for crop tops (I wouldn't want to be shown' off too much of my midriff now! Ha ha!). I love the look of crochet on denim shorts - It's so elegant and chic looking! I actually have a pair quite similar to these. I wore them in my holiday style diary post if you're interested to see how I styled them.

River Island kimono - €37                                          Warehouse kimono - €47

And last but not least is the beloved Kimono! They're perfect for festivals, covering up at the pool/beach or even just for an everyday look. When paired with a pair of black or denim shorts, a slogan tee and a long chain they make for a great festival look or pair them with a pair of jeans when the weather is a bit chilly - perfect for us Irish gals with our unpredictable weather! Celeb's such as Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner are also fans of this trend too. What do you think of the kimono?

That's it for my favourite summer trends! What do you think of these trends? And what trends will you be wearing this summer?

Love,
Cliona xx

May Favourites!

It's time for my monthly favourites again! Here's what I've been loving this month:

1) Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask

I reviewed the sachet of this face mask back in February (Read here) and I fell in love with it the first time I used it! I finally purchased the full bottle of it and it's safe to say I fell in love with it all over again! It clears congested pores and it leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed. I also notice that it leaves my skin looking noticeably brighter and it also leaves my skin feeling quite smooth. It only takes 5 minutes to use so it's great if you're looking for a quick and easy skin treat! My skin looks and feels so much better whenever I use this product. I'll be forever repurchasing it!

2) Dove Purely Pampering body cream

This is what I like to call heaven in a tub ;-) I'm a total shea butter addict - If something has shea butter in it then I usually love the product before I even try it! I was very impressed with this product -  It's very moisturising and sinks into the skin very quickly. The thing that I love most about it is that it's the fastest drying moisturiser I've ever used!

3) Seventeen Brow's that! Brow kit

I got this for christmas and after two months of daily use it got lost in my makeup collection. After digging through my makeup drawer, I found it and I'd forgotten how much I loved it! It's a fantastic brow product - It's very natural looking and my brows stay in place all day long (no unruly brows with this stuff!). I've actually gotten a few compliments on my brows since I started using this again! I also love that it comes with a highlighter as not many other brow kits come with one. I always sweep a bit of it onto my brow bone and it beautifully enhances my brow bone.

4) Revlon Nearly Naked foundation in 110 Ivory

This is a lovely lightweight foundation. I'd highly recommend this foundation if you're looking for something that's light coverage and looks very natural. It's great for a 'no makeup' makeup look. It has SPF 20 (great for the summer!)  and it doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all. It's also very affordable at only €12.99 and there is a large range of shades to choose from.

5) Rimmel scandal eyes waterproof kohl kajal liner in 001 Nude

I normally hate using eyeliner on my waterline and before I purchased this I only ever applied  eyeliner on to my lash line. But I've been using it all month long and it's safe to say I've been converted - I'm now branching out and I've even used brown and black eyeliner on my waterline too. I love it! It brightens up the eyes and helps me to look more awake - It's a life saver if I haven't gotten a good night's sleep! It glides on beautifully and it's long lasting too.

What products were you loving in May? I hope you're all having a lovely weekend so far!

Love,
Cliona xx

#summerbloggerchallenge | Summer Bag Essentials

Hello! My first post of June! YAY! I'm very excited that it's finally june ... it's one of my favourite months! Summer is well and truly here (although the weather would suggest other wise!) and I'm delighted to be taking part in the summer blogger challenge which was organised by Amy from amsiegraham. Every Tuesday a bunch of bloggers will be writing a blog post about a certain topic. This week is .... Summer bag essentials.

A summer read - A good book is always a must have for me during the summer. I love nothing more than sitting out in the sun with a good book and possibly an ice-cream too ;-) I'm loving John Green's books at the moment! They're always so captivating and relatable. I plan on reading more of his books this summer!

Suncream - Suncream really bores me.... buying it, applying it, just everything about it bores me but it's something I can't leave out of my summer beauty routine because I don't fancy getting burnt to a crisp! Ha ha! The two that I've been using this year are the Nivea protect & bronze sun lotion and Boots Soltan protect & tan suncare lotion. You can probably notice a recurring theme here... they're both tan enhancing sun creams! I am so pale and I just never seem to be able to get a tan! Ha ha! These both allow me to get small tan meanwhile protecting my skin at the same time. They also both have an SPF 30 because anything less than that I will burn .... badly! ;-)

BB cream or CC cream - BB cream and CC creams are great for the summer! They're very light but they still give great coverage. These two are my favourite ones at the moment. I'll be doing a whole post on summer bases sometime so stay tuned for that.

Hair refresh - I always pop a bottle of dry shampoo into my bag during the summer months. The heat can make my hair feel sticky and sweaty so I can just spray a bit of this on to my hair and it's instantly refreshed!

SPF for the lips - We can't forget about the lips - they need to be protected from the sun's harmful rays too! I love these lip balms from Bourjois for the summer months. My favourite shade is 'Peach on the beach'. It's a gorgeous peachy pink colour and it's perfect for the summer! It also has an SPF of 15 so it will protect your lips as well as make them look beautiful. Score!!

Sunglasses - Sunglasses are definitely something I couldn't go without! These round ones are my all time faves! Stylish, chic and very much on trend at the moment you certainly can't go wrong with a pair of round sunglasses!

Camera - I will of course be bringing my camera everywhere I go! This is my first summer blogging and I can't wait to type up lots of summery posts. I'll have my camera glued to my hand as you just never know when you'll come across something snap worthy that you can blog about. The world is full of beautiful, inspiring things :-)

Cute hair accessories - I'll also be carrying around some cute hair accessories such as this pretty headband and these floral clips. I think these look so beautiful in my hair and they're so cute for the summer. As well as looking pretty in your hair they are also very useful as they keep your hair off your face which is handy if it's warm.

What are your summer bag essentials?

I hope you enjoyed this post! I had lots of fun writing it and I can't wait for next week's!

Love,
Cliona xx
