Think Happy, Be Happy!

Slogan t-shirt outfit
Casual autumn outfit
Fossil watch and bead bracelet
Casual autumnal outfit of the day
Floral heart necklace
Leopard print outfit

T-shirt - New Look
Jeans - Awear
Pumps - Bershka
Belt - Penneys
Watch - Fossil
Necklace - Penneys

Oh look, another new purchase. In my last outfit post I showed you a bargain I bought in New look and this week I have another little New Look gem to show you. Seriously, do I ever stop shopping? Well, last night I ventured onto Asos and purchased a few things and just moments before I started typing up this post I placed a cheeky little order on New Look. So I guess the answer to that question is no. But it is a new season after all so I guess that makes it ok? Seriously though, I'm gonna have to win the lotto one of these days to keep up with my spending habits. If only, eh? The first thing I'd do if I won would definitely go on a huge shopping spree and then I'd get a walk-in-wardrobe to put all my new clothes in! What would be the first thing you'd do? ;-)

Right, enough dreaming of winning the lottery, because it's time to talk outfit details. I wore this outfit last weekend when it was still kind of warm but I'd definitely need to wear a jacket with this from now on as it's after getting really chilly here in Ireland. I love the colour of these jeans - I think they look very Autumnal. I paired them with my leopard print belt from Penneys and my pumps are from Bershka which I got during the January sales so they were a bargain. You know how much I love a good bargain!

This outfit is pretty much recycled as I've worn it before but I just added my new slogan t-shirt to change things up a little bit. I love buying one new piece to make a whole different outfit instead of buying a whole new outfit. Speaking of the t-shirt, when I spotted it in New Look I fell head over heels for it and when I saw that it was only €9.99 I knew I couldn't leave it there. I was looking for a slogan t-shirt for ages so I was really happy when I found it. I mean, look at it, it's just perfect for someone who has anxiety. Positive vibes galore! I even notice a difference in my mood whenever I wear it. Well done New Look.

I'm off now to have a cuppa and join in with the #bbloggers chat. I hope you all had a lovely Sunday whatever you got up to, unfortunately I wasn't feeling very well today but I feel a lot better now! Are any of you watching the X Factor this year? I'm in two minds about it because I want to see what Cheryl is wearing but then on the other hand it's just the same thing every year so it's incredibly boring. Mmm, tough decisions indeed! ;-)

What do you think of this t-shirt? Do you like slogan t-shirts?

Love,
Cliona xx

Back To School Outfit Planning

Gone are the days of lounging in my pjs and tracksuit bottoms (and binge watching the vampire diaries) as it's back to school time once again so with that in mind I decided to put together a little school outfit planning post. It officially feels like Autumn now so I've been browsing the online clothes shops with coats, boots, scarves, etc on my mind and I'm finding myself lusting after EVERYTHING. The weather has changed drastically over the last few days here in Ireland so it's now time to add some wintery bits to the wardrobe. My wish list is as long as my arm so I thought I could do a little wish list post but in the end I decided to go against the traditional wish list style posts and I thought I'd style each item that I'm lusting after.... I thought it was a good idea until I ended up adding the extra bits to my wish list as well.... Oops *insert see-no-evil monkey emoji*  I'm in a very splurgy mood this evening and writing this post has not helped so I may have to make a cheeky little purchase. Uh-oh....

School outfit ideas

Wish list item - Plimsolls

I fell in love with these metallic plimsolls the second I laid eyes on them and I knew immediately that they would look fab with white jeans. I wasn't really sure what colour top to go for but when I came across this light pink polka dot top on Zara's website, I knew straight away that it would suit this outfit perfectly. When it comes to accessories for school I like to keep it simple with a watch and maybe a dainty necklace or my alex & ani bracelets which you can see in my last outfit post. So with that in mind, I chose this cute little rose gold watch from Oasis to go with the outfit. The dream is to one day own a rose gold Michael Kors watch but until then I'll have to try to find a nice highstreet one and this is definitely a good option. Onto the wish list it goes!

How to style a faux fur gilet

Wish list item - Faux fur gilet

A faux fur gilet is one of my favourite things to wear in Autumn/Winter. I actually have a brown one that I can not wait to take out and start wearing but I really want to get my hands on a black one as well as I think it will go with a lot more things in my wardrobe and this one from Topshop couldn't be more perfect. If only I could afford it - A girl can dream, can't she? If you follow me on Pinterest then you'll have seen that I've become autumn/winter fashion obsessed as I've been pinning lots of style pics to my fashion board and the faux fur gilet has popped up on more than one occasion. Obsessed, I tell ya!
I decided to go in a monochrome direction for outfit number 2 by pairing the gilet with this polka dot dress and some white pumps from oasis which are on sale for €19 down from €31. Hello Bargain! I'd snap these up in a heartbeat but I'm just not sure if they'd be comfy and I've made it a goal to not buy uncomfortable  shoes anymore - Some shoes are just too pretty to not buy!!

A casual winter outfit

Wish list item - Grey coat

So originally I had my eye on this gorgeous coat from Zara but when I was putting this outfit together, I spotted this slogan tee from River Island and I instantly fell in love with it. It's calling my name, how can I resist? But back to the coat and oh my goodness, how beautiful is this? I'm genuinely lost for words! It's just the perfect winter coat but sadly I can't afford it at the moment so hopefully it'll still be there in a few weeks. Fingers crossed!
For this outfit I chose a really laid back, casual outfit. There's nothing I love more than a good jeans and converse combo so that's exactly what I went for with this look. I also added the draped chain necklace from River Island just to add a little somethin' somethin' to the outfit but I also think layering a few necklaces would look lovely too.

So there we have it, some of my back to school ideas/ autumn fashion wish list. If you're back in school/college then I hope it's going well for you so far and good luck with the year ahead!

Which is your favourite look? And what's on your wish list at the moment?

Love,
Cliona xx

Product Of The Week #5 | Nivea Hand cream

Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream Review

For the past couple of weeks I've been trying (and loving) a new hand cream and I think it's about time it got a mention on the blog. I'm not usually the kind of person to be singing praises about hand creams, I usually just pick up whatever is on offer and be done with it. However I think that's slowly changing and I may have my Mam to blame for that one - She's a hand cream obsessive, buy her some hand cream and she'll be happy as Larry! -  I'm now starting to understand the love affair she has with hand creams and this could be the start (of something new! Yep, I went there!) of a new obsession. Oh dear....

Nivea macadamia nut oil hand cream

Fretting about a possible new obsession aside we have some business to get down too: the review of the Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream.

Believe it or not but my favourite thing to talk about in a review is the packaging. Yes, the packaging! I'm a complete sucker for some nice packaging and my Mam always says I'm an advertisers dream. Anyway, this hand cream comes in a blue and white plastic 100ml tube. It's nothing special and it doesn't look particularly nice on my bedside table but I mean for a few euros I'm not really complaining. It is handy for throwing in your hand luggage if your off on your holiers (you lucky thing!) as it's 100ml and it's a nice size for my handbag too - not too big so that it's taking up all the room and not too small either. And the cap is easy to open too (there's nothing worse than fiddling around with a cap for ages!).

Nivea hand cream review

Moving on to the scent, it's pure love. I've used hair products containing macadamia nut oil before and I thought they smelled pretty nice but the smell of this is SO much better. It has a sweet, warm, nutty scent and it kind of reminds me of shea so all you shea fans out there this is one to put on your wish list. I also find it to be a really relaxing scent so it's the perfect pre-bedtime treat that my hands deserve after a hard day's work ;-)

The product itself left my skin feeling so smooth and soft. Usually around this time of year when the weather changes my poor hands end up suffering - it's a dry flaky mess that you do not want to see, trust me. But I have to say this has been a life saviour, not a dry flaky patch in sight. It has quite a rich creamy texture that is quite heavy but don't let that fool you because it sinks in almost instantly. It also doesn't leave a greasy residue behind. Splendid. It's been a firm favourite of mine for the past few weeks and it will no doubt be seeing me right through the winter. Goodbye dry hands!

And last but not least, I'm sure you're all wondering how much this wonderful little product is? Well, it costs €3.99 but it's currently on offer for €1.96 in Boots.

What is your favourite hand cream? What's been your product of the week?

Love,
Cliona xx

2 Skincare Reviews | La Roche Posay Toleriane

La Roche Posay Toleriane riche moistruiser & dermo-cleanser

Once again I'm talking about skincare products here on clionahill.com, surprise surprise. I can't help it, ok? I just love skincare products so much! I even have a whole basket full of them which you might have seen on my Instagram but I'm slowly making my way through them and today I have not one product but two to review.

I bought both of these as my eczema had flared up and my skincare products at the time were irritating it. All of the products in the Toleriane range are made with a minimum amount of ingredients and they are perfume, preservative and paraben free so they sounded very promising and my irritated skin begged me to give them a try. I have one very positive and one not so positive review for you today. I was initially only going to write the positive review as I don't really like writing (or reading for that matter) negative reviews but I decided to include it anyway because I think sometimes it's ok to share what you don't like as sometimes I like to keep the bad things in mind as well as the good when I'm buying a product.

La Roche Posay Toleriane riche moisturiser

La Roche Posay Toleriane Riche €17.99 -
I'll get the not so good review over with fast so we can delve into the good stuff. Save the best for last and all that.

It comes in a small tube which was handy for throwing into my makeup bag but in saying that, I do think the price is a little steep considering you only get 40ml of product and I can't say it was worth it either. It has a thick creamy texture so a tiny amount really does go a long way. It claims to soothe the skin which I agree with - It soothed my eczema but it didn't quite sink into my skin and it left a greasy film. Not cool.

Even though I personally didn't like this I still thought I'd mention it because you never know it may just work for you and sometimes it's nice to see why people didn't like a product. I'd say this would be good for dry skin types but oily skinned gals stay away at all costs!

La Roche Posay Toleriane dermo-cleanser

La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser €14.29 -
Lets start with the packaging - It's the standard blue and white theme that all of the LRP products have and this particular bottle is slim, light and quite compact making it ideal for travel. The 200ml bottle lasted me about five weeks and I used it both morning and night.

Moving on to the product itself, it has a lightweight milky formula that is very gentle on the skin. I use this in both the morning and evening and I apply it to damp skin, massage a small amount onto my face and then remove it with a muslin cloth. It could also be used with a cotton wool pad but I find the muslin cloth method to be more effective for removing dirt.
Speaking of removing dirt and makeup, this does a great job at doing so. I normally use it after I've removed my makeup with some micellar water but for review purposes I also used it to remove my makeup to see how well it worked. I found that you needed to apply and rinse off about two or three times to remove every single trace of makeup. So I personally think that it works best by using a makeup remover first. It removed eye makeup too without stinging the eye area and under my eyes are quite sensitive so they usually get quite sore but this didn't cause any irritation to my eye area whatsoever.

I also noticed that I had a lot less breakouts whilst using this and my skin didn't feel dry or tight after I used it which was the problem I was having with my previous cleanser. Result! I'll definitely be repurchasing.

If you have sensitive skin then I'd highly recommend the cleanser, it's just lovely. Even though I have quite dry skin, I also have a very oily t-zone so the moisturiser just didn't agree with the oily parts of my face but I'd say it'd be nice for just dry skin types - It did wonders for my dry, flaky skin and it would have been a great moisturiser if only it didn't leave my face looking and feeling like a big grease ball.

Have a lovely relaxing weekend!

Love,
Cliona xx

Weekend Adventures | Cupcakes & Scones In Bewley's

I've lived in Dublin my whole life and I must've walked up and down Grafton Street at least a few hundred times by now and yet one place I've never stepped foot in is Bewley's. But yesterday myself and my Mam ventured in together to have an afternoon treat.....

When I first walked in the lovely whiff of coffee and cakes was enough to make my mouth drool. Even though I hate coffee with a passion I actually love the smell of it, there's just something about the smell of it that makes my mouth water but the taste is a whole different story. Back to Bewley's and it was absolutely packed and buzzing and it had such a lovely atmosphere.
Everything on the menu sounded really nice so choosing what to have was such a difficult task. When I finally made a decision I went for their luxury hot chocolate and a lemon cupcake (what else? They're my fave! I even wrote a post about baking lemon cupcakes) while my Mam chose to have a scone and cappuccino. The hot chocolate was heavenly - so chocolatey but not too sweet - and the lemon cupcake was gorge - moist and zesty to perfection. Yum.

I'm so glad I finally went to Bewley's! It's now on my list of top 10 places to go and I'm on a bit of a cafe buzz now - I'd love to do a little tour of all the coffee shops in Dublin. That would be so much fun!

I hope you liked my little lifestyle post for a change ... I had so much fun writing it that I might do some more 'weekend adventures' posts in the future. What do you guys think? I really wanted to do an outfit post as well because I wore my new favourite top from Zara that I got for €7 (I didn't think I bought that much in the sales but in every blog post I seem to be talking about my bargain finds. The life of a shopaholic! Ha!) but the weather was horrible. Typical.

Have you been to Bewley's? What did you get up to on the weekend?

Love,
Cliona xx

Product Of The Week #4

The Body Shop cocoa butter shower cream
The Body Shop cocoa butter body wash

Hi all and welcome back to 'product of the week'! Can you believe this is the fourth instalment of it? It feels like only yesterday I was typing up the first one, how time flies. On Friday I spoke about my bargain dress so I thought I'd keep the bargain theme going and include another sale buy in this week's 'product of the week' post. I got this cocoa butter shower cream from the Body Shop for €4 reduced from €8. Not bad, eh? I'm quite sad to say goodbye to the summer sales, I always find great little gems but the way this year has been flying along dare I say it, it'll be time for the January sales before we know it.

Right, I think that's enough yapping on about time flying. I sound like an old lady. Ha! Anyway here's how I got on with The Body Shop cocoa butter shower cream:

Scent - I originally wanted to pick up the shea version of this but I must've grabbed this one by an accident. I was disappointed to say the least as shea is my all time favourite scent, if a product contains shea butter then I'm guaranteed to love it. But I kept an open mind about the cocoa butter version but unfortunately it just didn't float my boat. The smell was too strong for my liking and quite overpowering. It kind of had a more sugary vanilla scent than cocoa butter in all honesty. Sorry Body Shop but I'm not a fan!

Packaging - Simple, compact and fuss free, just what I like. We don't have much space in our shower to store things so the Body Shop have really made my life a whole lot easier with this design. Even though I love the radox shower gels their bottles are just a bit awkward and big - they always end up falling on to my toes but luckily this fits nicely in my shower so no more sore toes. THANK GOD.

Texture / consistency - It has a lightweight creamy texture and I think it looks a lot like custard! It lathers quite well but not as good as others. If you're looking for something very foamy then I'd recommend the S&G sugar crush or Radox shower washes.

How well it worked - It left my skin feeling clean and it didn't strip the skin of it's moisture. It also left my skin feeling soft and smooth so this is a good 'un for us dry skinned gals. I have very sensitive skin and products often break my skin out in rashes or eczema but this body wash did nothing of the sort. That's probably down to the fact that it's soap-free.

So there we have it, my thoughts on The Body Shop cocoa butter shower cream. Now it's time for that all important question; would I recommend it? I'd definitely recommend this body wash if you like strong, sugary scents. I personally didn't like the smell at all so for that reason I won't be picking up this version again however I might just go out and buy another scent as the body wash was rather lovely.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening <3

Have you tried any of the Body Shop shower creams? If so, which scent is your favourite?

Love,
Cliona xx

An Outfit Post: The Bargain Dress

Bright pink dress

I'm an Autumn/Winter girl through and through so no ones happier than I am to see the summer coming to an end. I just love dressing for the colder weather - think cosy jumpers, fluffy hats, boots, coats, the list is endless. Oh the excitement! - but with that being said I do love a bit of sunshine just as much as the next person so last weekend I embraced the sunny (kind of) weather and got my pins out with this bright pink number. I got this a couple of weeks ago in the sale for €8, I repeat €8!! Now that's a steal if I ever did see one.

Pink new look t-shirt dress

I was having a look at the content here on clionahill.com during my usual post planning session and I noticed that I don't do nearly as many outfit posts as I'd like to. I feel like I've been stuck in a bit of a beauty rut of late not that that's a bad thing but I'd really like to shake things up a bit. I've planned to take lots of outfit photos in the next coming weeks so stay tuned for those *all the excited emojis*  I'm thinking of posting one every friday or every second friday? What do you think? Just don't hold me to that because me and schedules don't go so well together ;-)

New look t-shirt dress
Casual summer t-shirt dress outfit

Poor little Piper thought we she was just going for a nice walk but little did she know she had to be a model too. Ha! She secretly loves it though! While she looks really cute in these pictures, it was a nightmare trying to get her to stay still or look at the camera. What's that they say about never working with kids and animals? I think I'll take that advice on board next time ;-)

Alex & Ani bangles

Outfit Details:
Dress - New Look
Leather jacket - Zara
Hat - Soho (closed down)
Shoes - Penneys
Necklace - Mi Moneda ('carpe diem' coin)
Bangles - Alex and Ani

Moving on to the outfit now and I wore this pink dress from New Look which has now been reduced to €6.50, are you kidding me? I paired it with my favourite summery hat which is from a little shop called Soho but sadly it's closed down. For shoes I wore my white pumps from Penneys and I also brought my leather jacket along with me because it was rather chilly by the sea. I do love a statement necklace or two but at the moment I'm all about the dainty gold jewellery, so I dug my Alex & Ani bangles and MiMoneda necklace out of my jewellery box. Shock horror! Seriously I barely ever take them off. Some day I'll wear something else, just you wait and see ;-)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend <3

What do you think of this bargain dress? Have you found any bargains in the sale recently?

Love,
Cliona xx

Top Ten Tag!

Top ten tag

It's been so long since I've done a tag post but fear not as I have a super fun one to share with you today. This tag was created by the lovely Jessica and I was so delighted when she tagged me to take part in her brand spanking new tag post. Her blog is great and she's such a lovely person! So thanks Jessica!

The rules are very simple and they go like this:
Copy and Paste everything in Bold
This Tag was made by Jessica Vannan at Pretty Chit Chat
I was tagged by (link who tagged you)
Tag who you would like to nominate

1. Foundation
I'm not really a huge fan of foundation, I'm more of a tinted moisturiser and bb cream kind of girl but one foundation that managed to steal my heart was the Revlon nearly naked foundation. This lightweight foundation gives a nice bit of coverage whilst still looking very natural. It's perfect for creating a "no makeup" makeup look or just your everyday makeup routine. Can't recommend it enough!

2. Powder
My favourite powder is cheap but definitely a cheerful one and it's the Rimmel stay matte powder. My battle with shine is the biggest bane of my life due to having an incredibly oily t-zone but with this stuff shine doesn't stand a chance. And with it only costing €5.99 it's a total steal! My wallet thanks me for this one.

3. Concealer
That would definitely be the cult beauty blogger favourite, Collection lasting perfection concealer. It gives great coverage and doesn't cake. Love it!

4. Blush
Hands down Dandelion by Benefit! It's just perfect for my fair complexion - It looks very subtle on the cheeks and it gives the skin a nice healthy glow. (Review here)

5. Bronzer
I'm a complete blush fanatic and I'll try lots of them until I'm blue in the face but when I find a good bronzer I tend to stick to it. The one that I absolutely LOVE is the Bourjois chocolate bronzer. The tiny gold flecks in this bronzer give a gorgeous subtle glow to the skin and not to mention it smells like chocolate. Divine.

6. Highlighter
My highlighter of choice would have be the No7 instant radiance highlighter. It's texture is smooth and creamy so it is a dream to apply and I love that it comes in stick form making it easy for on the go touch ups. I apply this to my cheekbones, brow bone and cupid's bow and it gives my face a lovely subtle glow - It's love.

7. Mascara
Applying mascara is always my favourite step of my makeup routine. And one that makes that experience so much more enjoyable is the Rimmel Lash accelerator mascara.

8. Eye shadow
Before a couple of weeks ago I would have said the Revlon colour stay quads were my favourite eyeshadows but there's a new kid on the block; the l'oreal colour riche l'ombre pure eyeshadows. Nude 204 is my current favourite!

9. Brows
Seventeen Brows That! brow kit is my choice.  A lovely little product to achieve defined yet natural eyebrows, I love it! Plus I always get great compliments on my brows when I use this. So this definitely will be staying put in the makeup bag.

10. Lip product
Ooh this is quite a hard one seeing as I chop and change my lip products like there's no tomorrow but I'd probably say the Revlon matte balms are my favourites. But I also love the Bourjois colour boost crayons and the Rimmel Lasting finish lipsticks with 'Peach on the beach' being my fave from Bourjois and 'Nude pink' from the Rimmel lipsticks. I'm also partial to a liquid lipstick or two and for those I love the apocalips offerings from Rimmel. So much for picking just one, ha! If you're a lip product fanatic like me then you might enjoy my post about my favourite lip crayons ;-)

I hope you loved this tag as much as I did! I've tagged a couple of people down below but do feel free to do this tag if it floats your boat ;-)

I tag:

1. Kate

2. Michelle

3. Lucy

4. Leigh-Ann

Product Of The Week | Maybelline Master Kajal Khol Liner

Maybelline Master Kajal Eyeliner
Maybelline master kajal kohl liner

Another week has come and gone so that means only one thing here on clionahill.com, it's time for another instalment of 'product of the week'. The product that's in the spotlight this week is a relatively new release from Maybelline and it's their Master Kajal Liner in 'pitch black'. After admiring it when it was first released earlier on in the year, I finally got my hands on it a few weeks ago and it was instant love. If eyeliner isn't your strong point then listen up because this is THE product for you. Here are all my thoughts on the Maybelline master kajal kohl liner aka my product of the week..... Hope you enjoy!

Maybelline master kajal liner review

I'll put my hand up and admit I'm not one for lining my upper eye lid, I've just never found a good eyeliner that I can apply quickly and easily, until now that is. This chubby crayon-like liner has a pointed end designed to make application a whole lot easier. For my everyday makeup I like to apply to my upper eye lid and smudge it out but you could build it up for a more dramatic look or use it on the waterline. It's fairly pigmented, it's smooth, creamy formulation allows it to glide on effortlessly and the staying power is quite good too.

I have to say it's the easiest eyeliner I've ever used (and that's saying much coming from me) and I was amazed at how quick it was to apply. The only thing that bothers me with it is that it can't be sharpened and it's not twistable either so once it breaks there's no saving it. I'd be devastated if it broke even though it's only €8.99 but still money is money!

Maybelline Master Kajal liner swatch

Whether you're an eyeliner newbie or oldie and you're looking for an eyeliner that's quick and easy to use well then I'd definitely recommend trying this one out. It's found a spot in my makeup bag and it's not going anywhere anytime soon, I love it!

What's been your favourite product this week?

P.s. If you missed the previous 'product of the week' posts, you can them here and here :-)

A Whole Lot Of Empties!

Empties / products I've used up

Hi ladies! I've been collecting empty products for quite some time and yesterday when I was sifting through the bag I was shocked at the amount of them. I thought it was definitely time to do an empties post. It's long over due. Before I started blogging I didn't realise the amount of products that I use up on a regular basis. It's kind of obsessive but I can't help loving beauty products (#bblogger problems). Anyway, here are the products that I've used up recently.....

Empty products

Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Lotion
This body moisturiser has been a firm favourite of mine for years now, I just love it. First of all it smells amaaazing. The scent is shea butter and warm vanilla and it smells good enough to eat. What I love most about it is that it's so quick drying and easily absorbed. Recently I picked up the body butter version of it and that one is lovely too. And for €4.99 you can't really go wrong.

Would I repurchase? Most definitely! I've been repurchasing this for years and I still love it.

Radox Nourish Shower Cream
As I said in my last empties post (that feels like a life time ago now), I love the Radox shower creams. They lather up nicely, leave my skin feeling clean and they smell lovely too. These shower creams are actually one of the few shower washes that I can use, because for some reason my skin gets red and itchy with most shower washes that I've tried (I think I might be allergic to a certain ingredient in them). However these don't have that effect on my skin and they're really affordable. So it's a win win. They cost €2.59 but they're currently half price in Boots. Oh Boots, you are such a bad influence.

Would I repurchase? Yep, I sure would!

Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser
This is a lazy girl's (much like myself) dream moisturiser. All you have to do is pop a bit on whilst in the shower after you've washed off your normal body wash. It only takes about a minute to apply and wash off, very minimal effort required and no waiting around for it to dry. It left my skin feeling quite soft, not as soft as a proper moisturiser so I don't use it daily but it's perfect for when I'm in a lazy mood or in a rush. There's currently €1.50 off these in Boots. *Runs to Boots and grabs ten bottles*

Would I repurchase? Yes. In fact, I already have another one on the go and I also have a backup. That's how much I love it.

E45 hand cream and Seventeen concealer

E45 Moisturising Hand Cream
This hand cream is my best friend whenever my eczema flairs up. I can usually use any type of hand cream whenever I don't have any eczema but when the pesky skin condition flairs up I immediately have to switch to this because other products tend to sting the area of concern. This doesn't treat my eczema - I use the E45 treatment cream for that - but just soothes it and doesn't cause any further irritation. As well as soothing eczema this is great for when I have dry, chapped hands. It moisturises and rehydrates my hands, leaving them soft and supple. Usually in the winter or if I've been over washing my hands they get so chapped that they sometimes bleed (it's a pain like no other!) but this sorts the problem after a couple of uses. I can't thank it enough! It's a little bit greasy so I usually just use it before I go to bed,  but it's something I can live with it because it's just so good. It's also really long lasting, I notice that my hands don't ever start to feel dry until the next night. This is definitely one for the night stand during the winter months (not long now ;-)) for dry, chapped hands. I just love it!

Would I repurchase? Yes, definitely!

Seventeen Miracle Matte Concealer Stick
This isn't the best concealer I've tried I must say. It has medium coverage and it covered spots and redness well but I found that it clung to dry patches, not a good look. I used the shade 'fair' and it was an excellent colour match, it was easy to blend and it lasted all day too.  I was impressed with the coverage and the staying power but the fact that it clung to dry patches put me off it.

Would I repurchase? No

Garnier Moisture Match Goodbye Dry Ultra-hydrating Rich Cream
This was a total hit n' miss product for me. I needed a new moisturiser, this was on offer so into the boots basket it went. Because of my eczema, I'm often left with very dry flaky patches so this moisturiser sounded promising. But it did nada for my skin - It didn't moisturise or hydrate my skin very well and I was still left with awful flaky patches. Another thing I didn't care for was the greasy residue it left on my skin (Ew!) and it only lasted about two weeks - Eh, hello Garnier? Am I made of money? That'll teach me for buying a product that I didn't do any research on beforehand, NEVER AGAIN I tell you!

Would I repurchase? That'll be a no!

Garnier Simply Essentials Cleansing Lotion
Before I purchased the Garnier micellar cleansing water, (post about it here) I used to use cleansing lotions to remove my makeup; the ones from Garnier being my very favourite! I find that this is a really effective method of removing my makeup as well as micellar waters. I love that this lotion not only cleanses my skin but it also leaves it feeling so soft, like you've put moisturiser on! It's so gentle on my skin and it even removes eye makeup. I love it. The 'fresh essentials' version is gorgeous too although I think they might have discontinued it because I don't see it around anymore?

Would I repurchase? In a heart beat!

Johnson's Daily Essentials Nourishing Day Cream For Dry Skin
This is a gorgeous lightweight moisturiser that effortlessly sinked into my skin. It's meant for dry skin types but I actually found that it really suited my combination skin - It moisturised and hydrated my dry areas and didn't make my t-zone greasy. It was a sad day when I walked into my local Boots and saw that they were no longer stocking this. Why, Boots, why? :-(

Would I repurchase? Yes

Simple Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser
This is a really gentle cleanser that removes makeup and other impurities but also leaves the skin feeling nourished and soft. As I have combination skin I sometimes find it hard to get a good cleanser that suits both the oily parts of my face as well as the dry parts but this suited both. It cleansed my skin well and didn't dry out my skin either. Like most Simple products it smells fresh and it washes off easily too. The only thing I quite disliked about this was it foamed too much for my liking. I personally don't really like foaming cleansers - I much prefer creamy, milky cleansers - but if you like foaming cleansers and have sensitive skin then you might just like it!

Would I repurchase? Probably not

Haircare empties

Batiste Cherry Dry Shampoo
I try to go as long as possible without washing my hair, I find that when I over wash it I have a serious grease problem and it becomes so heavy and frizzy. My hair is such a chore I just can't wash it more than twice a week. This little product is so handy for those cba days, when I just don't have the energy to wash my hair. I'm a fan of the batiste dry shampoos but I found this scent was a bit overpowering. The only bad thing with Batiste's dry shampoos is that they leave a white residue so you have to make sure you really work it in. We don't want to be going around with the hair of an 80 year old, now do we? (sorry to all the 80 year olds out there! I'm sure you have lovely hair ;-))

Would I repurchase? Not this particular one. I love the blush - floral and fruity version.

Aussie Mega Shampoo
As I said before I like to keep as much time between washes as much as possible, so this really helps to get rid of product build up which keeps my locks looking and feeling clean for much longer. I can usually go 4-5 days without washing my hair when I've used this! Amazing. It also smells divine, it's to die for! Aussie's products always seem to fill the bathroom with a gorgeous scent that lingers for hours too, it's just heavenly. Aussie can do no wrong in my books! I've yet to be disappointed with their products.

Would I repurchase? Yep!

I was disappointed that my little quote board wouldn't fit into the photos but to be perfectly honest I'd rather have perfectly sized images ;-) It says 'Live, laugh, love and be happy'. I love positive quotes like that, I keep a folder full of them on my phone and I have a Pinterest board for them too (you can follow me here) and I even have a little book full of positive quotes on my bedside table too. I've been doing up my room since December and I'm still not finished! Perfectionism will be the end of me! But in fairness it just takes so long to get the small bits right and I don't want to be left with something that I'm not 100% happy with and want to change again in a few months time. I might share a few pictures on here when it's finished if that's something you'd be interested in?

Anyway I hope you enjoyed going through my stash of empties with me and have a lovely weekend. Here's to hoping the sun will make an appearance!

Have you used any of these products before? What have you used up recently?

Product Of The Week #2 | Hydraluron Moisture Booster

Hydraluron hydrating serum

Happy Monday and welcome back to 'product of the week'! I have another skincare product this week (can you tell I love skincare?) and this time it's in the form of a serum. I only started using the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Booster last Monday so I won't be able to do a full review on this, however, I can give you my first impressions and let you know how I've been getting on with it. I'll keep you updated in the coming weeks but for now here's what I like about it so far:

1. It's gel like consistency feels cool on the skin and leaves it feeling fresh, perfect for this humid, clammy weather.

2. After just a couple of uses I noticed my skin looked more radiant. So long dull skin!

3. A little goes a long way so I'm hopeful that it will last me a good while. I use a pea size amount and it covers my entire face.

4. It sinks into the skin and doesn't leave a greasy residue.

5. It makes my makeup last longer, not by much but hey, I'll take it.

6. It absorbs instantly so there's no waiting around for it to dry, I can pop my moisturiser on straight away.

This product will make wallets all around the world cry as it doesn't come cheap but wait, there's good news as it's often on offer in Boots. Hooray! I picked this up while there was 1/3 off for €21.66 but it's normally €32.50. Talk about steep! But so far it's working wonders for my skin, let's hope it continues to do so *Touches wood*.

Sorry for the lack of posts last week, I've been a busy little bee. I'll be making up for it this week though! There's an empties post coming to your computer screen very soon and I'm making brownies tomorrow so there may or may not be a post about those (wink wink). For now I bid you goodnight and I hope you have a great week!

What are your thoughts on Hydraluron? What's your product of the week?

Love,
Cliona xx
