What's On The High Street // The Houndstooth Trend

Houndstooth Trend

Today is the day that a new series is launching here on Once a fortnight I'll be showing you my favourite bits and pieces from the High Street in my brand new 'what's on the high street' posts.

Today we're discussing all things houndstooth....

The houndstooth trend is absolutely huge this A/W! From street style, to magazines, to shop windows to Instagram/Pinterest pics you can pretty much find houndstooth everywhere. There's so many different colours, styles and it's on every form of clothing, accessories and even shoes.

Here's some of my absolute favourites -
First up is that gorgeous cape from Zara. I. Want. This would be such a staple for the A/W months - You could wear it with everything from jeans and a jumper underneath to a skirt and some knee-high boots or even a jumper dress, a pair of tights and some loafers. Another one I love is the coatigan from River Island. Pair that with some Uggs and you'll have yourself one cosy outfit for doing all your Christmas shopping *wink wink* And last but not least are the coat and gloves from Vero Moda. I love the little leather details on these. I think the contrast of the two different materials are so stylish looking.

There's a bit of a monochrome theme going on here but you can't beat a bit of monochrome! It goes with absolutely everything and you can wear it during any season (well, in Ireland at least) so you'll definitely get your moneys worth. That's what I'm trying to tell myself about the cape ;-)

Do you like the houndstooth print?

  1. I love Houndstooth prints, that scarf looks lovely. I have a coat like the Vero Moda one which I got quite cheaply from Amazon :)
