Blogtober #1 // Why October Is My Favourite Month

Hello October, it's so lovely to see you. Since my favourite month is finally upon us I thought I would share my joy for October by blogging every second day this month. I won't lie, it will be a challenge but I'm looking forward to putting myself to the test. I ask that all fingers and toes are crossed for me. Seriously, I'll need all the luck in the world. There's a reason why I avoid all those photo a day challenges on Instagram and it's because I'm not good at sticking to commitments. But I'm determined to do it even it's it's just a short and sweet post (that'll be a nice change for you! You won't have to put up with my long rambles. Ha! Secretly, you love them.*wink wink*). Although in saying that I did stick to the 100 happy days challenge over on my Instagram (I missed one or two days, but don't tell anyone), so you never know.

To kick start Blogtober I thought I would do a nice little post sharing 6 reasons why I love October so much.

1. Cosy Clothes
September is always an awkward month to dress for as one minute the sun is blazing down on us and the next it's lashing rain and as cold as the north pole. But once the 1st of october rolls around it starts to get a lot chillier so we can officially take out our cosy jackets, fluffy jumpers and maybe even a wooly hat or two. Oh how I love layering! *Excited squeal* I even wrote a post about my top 5 A/W essentials a few days ago so check that out if you'd like to see what kind of things I'll be wearing for the Autumn/Winter season.

2. It's My Birthday And I'll Party If I Want To
Eek! It's my birthday month! This year I'll be turning the big 1-7. I can now drive and I think I'm going to start some lessons soon enough. I'm also only a year away from being 18. Oh wow, that scares me a little bit. I don't want to be an adult! I'm not ready for the responsibilities, I tell ya. Anyway, I'm not an adult just yet and that's certainly showing at the moment as I have not shut up about my birthday in the last few days. *Quotes the cat in the hat* I'M SO EXCITED!!The countdown has officially begun. 13 DAYS PEOPLE! There's no chance of anyone in my family forgetting as I keep reminding them every 5 minutes. See, I told you I wasn't ready to be an adult.

3. Mid-Term Break
As much as I love school it's nice to have a break every now and again. The October mid-term is probably my favourite break of the school year. I just love the coziness - I always have lots of pj days, hot chocolate, read books, watch movies and just chill. I love the christmas break too but it's just so busy and I'm always on the go whereas this one I have lots of time to relax and do cozy things. I do love a bit of coziness.

4. Halloween!
Although Halloween isn't my favourite holiday, it is the last holiday before Christmas. Once Halloween is over it's acceptable to start getting excited. "It's beginning to look a lot like christmas". Come the first of November I'll be blasting the christmas tunes and maybe even watch a cheeky little film too. Anyone up for a bit of Elf and some hot chocolate?

5. Autumn Leaves Are Falling
Ahh probably my favourite thing about October (yes, even more than my birthday), is the leaves start to fall. I know that some have already started to fall but it's not until October when there's big huge piles of them everywhere and they turn to a gorgeous brown. It's so pretty! Griffith Avenue is probably my favourite place in the Autumn. So. Many. Leaves. And don't even get me started on that crunchy noise they make. Eeep! It's the best sound ever!

6. Dark Chilly Evenings
For this one you're probably thinking 'what?', but just hear me out. There's nothing I love more than putting some fluffy socks and two hoodies on, and curling up on the couch with a hot drink and maybe the fire on. Oh so cozy. You couldn't possibly do that if it was bright and warm out, now could you? So, cold wintery nights let's be havin' you!

Hope you're all having a lovely evening and I'll see you Friday! Hopefully ;-)

What's your favourite month and why? And are you looking forward to anything in October?

Happy Blogtober!

Love,
Cliona xx
