It's Friday, I'm In Love!

"I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday I'm in love"

.........

The most important thing about fashion to me is being comfortable. On the weekends I love to experiment with dainty dresses, skirts and pretty flats but on the weekdays I stick to my jeans and comfy shoes. On Monday I opted for my new high waisted jeans from Vero Moda and some shiny metallic plimsolls from good ol' Penneys. I've been on the search for a decent pair of high waisted jeans for forever and a day but I was thrilled when these were the perfect fit. And they were only €34.95!

On a recent shopping trip (do I ever stop *wink wink*) I got a bit carried away in the shoe department of Penneys. You can see what I picked up over on Instagram but one of the things I nabbed were these gorgeous metallic plimsolls pictured below. I think they were around €13 so I was expecting them to be uncomfortable, but much to my surprise they are extremely comfortable and easy to walk in. Another new item is this crop top from Zara. I picked this up in a sale ages ago but totally forgot about it. The material is incredibly soft and I love the little splashes of colour on it.

And also happy Friday! I feel like I'm always addressing the fact that it's the weekend but how could I not?! Ha! I just can't help it, Friday is my favourite day! I remember when I was in my first year of secondary school, a sixth year and I used to shout "Friday feeling" to each other across the car park. At least I'm not the only one obsessed with Friday *Insert laughing with tears of joy emoji*

A Pop Of Red

I'm a big fan of the all white/cream look but recently I've been adding a pop of red to this classic look to make a statement..........

The 'all cream look' is a staple for me during the warmer months but lately I've been quite bored with it. I found this bright red scarf that was hiding down the back of my wardrobe and thought it'd be perfect to add a splash of colour to the outfit. Personally, I don't think one can ever own too many scarves. I wear them every single day and it probably looks like I have a weird scarf fixation, haha! They're great! - They can undoubtedly transform a plain outfit to make it look like you've put a lot more thought and effort into your outfit (sneaky tricks right there *wink wink*).

The first week back at school after the holidays are always the hardest....but thank crunchy it's Friday!   Last Thursday was such a beautiful day so we headed out to Avoca for a Spring evening stroll. Evening strolls are easily my favourite thing about the Spring. Still bright after 7pm, the last golden rays of the day glistening, kids playing and birds still chirping away to themselves. And maybe throw in a quick a hot chocolate pitstop too ;-) My plans for the weekend consist of lots of evening strolls just like this one - Pure bliss!

Casual & Comfortable

Sunny days are becoming a regular thing here in Dublin but it's not quite time to ditch the layers just yet. I've been sporting a comfy casual look which consists of this cosy jumper & skirt duo..........

..........

Saturday was a gorgeous sunny day and there were people out in their summer clothes but I could of sworn there was a chill in the air. It turns out that I was getting a cold because the next day I woke up as sick as a dog :-( So as you can imagine I was freezing and in an attempt to feel warm I pulled out the cosiest jumper and some thick tights.

I'm a huge fan of skater skirts and it's very rare that you'll see me wearing any other type of skirt. They're cute, girly and very versatile. I love that they're high waisted as well which means they go perfectly with crop tops but you can also tuck shirts/t-shirts inside them. However, I've never worn a top over the skirt, I usually stick to my comfort zone of tucking the tops in or wearing a crop top. I always thought it would look unflattering but I decided to give it a go and I was quite surprised. It brought a slouchy casual vibe to the outfit and you all know that casual is my middle name so I wasn't complaining. For even more casual-ness I popped on my Adidas runners.

What's On The High Street // Spring Staples

Spring is well and truly here and I couldn't be happier to say goodbye to the thousands of layers and trade them in for some light airy clothes. Here's a few staple pieces you need in your wardrobe this spring.....

Spring fashion staples

First of all, welcome to the new and improved clionahill.com. I uploaded my new design yesterday and I couldn't be happier with it. I decided to go for something a little more minimalistic than my old design. I had looked at a few black & white themes but felt that the one with hints of pink throughout represented my personality a lot better. I purchased it on Easy and I left a link to the designer over on my Instagram and Twitter if you're interested. It was really affordable and easy to install (and that's coming from a tech novice like me).

Anyway onto the fashion.... The first item you need this Spring is that gorgeous printed coat from Zara. Did someone say Blair Waldorf? I think so! The next piece is something you've all probably seen lots of by now... The sleeveless blazer! Sleeveless coats and blazers are all the rage at the moment and this simple black one from River Island will take you from day to night and will go with nearly any outfit.

Another one you can't escape from is the good ol' bomber jacket. I love the print of that Boohoo one and it's reduced, what's not to love? Next up is two that I think will look great together - The suede skirt and lace top. This outfit is very 70's with the suede skirt and the fringe detail at the end of the top. I hope you're ready for 70's fashion because it's back with a bang for the S/S months. And lastly, we have another popular trend in the form of the shirt dress. Pair it with those pink Zara plimsolls and a floppy hat and you're ready for Summer.

What are your Spring wardrobe staples?
