Blog Talk | Finding Inspiration

Today I'll be sharing my thoughts and
tips on finding inspiration as a blogger....

........

We all have creative slumps when we just hit a wall and run out of ideas. It can take days or even months for some people to find the blogging mojo once again. Last Sunday's Lbloggers chat was all about bloggers block and it inspired me to write a post on how I find inspiration and motivation for blogging {kinda fitting with point number 2. Ha! See it works ;-)} I've never really experienced bloggers block as such {rather, I've too many ideas and not enough time to get them all done :-(} but I've definitely felt down about my blog and its content. That can be really disheartening but I find these tips help to keep me inspired and in love with my blog.....

1. Visuals: The internet is full of amazing visuals these days with the rise in popularity of social media such as Instagram and Pinterest. Bright, pretty images can spark a whole amount of ideas! I find that after spending a half an hour on Pinterest (my life story, ha!) I come away with an abundant of blog post ideas. It's quite strange how random pictures generate ideas too - for example a picture of some flowers can give me lots of ideas for beauty posts. Whatever works, ha! Another place for finding great visuals is magazines with everything from hair, beauty, fashion and home you're bound to find some inspiration hidden away in the pages of a magazine.

2. Interacting With Others: Like I said before this very post was inspired by a Twitter chat. The blogging community is full of inspirational people and my best ideas always come to me in the middle of twitter chats. It might not even be related to the topic but there's nothing like talking to like-minded people who you have tons in common with to get the creative juices flowing!

3. Reading: Reading is a great one for all-round inspiration! I find reading not only helps with blog creativity but is also beneficial for school work. Getting lost in another world through a book is the best way to unwind and it's good to get away from the internet for a while. If books aren't your thing then reading blogs and articles is another alternative. Just keep reading because it really is the best way to be inspired and it improves your writing as well!

4. Taking a step back: If blogger's block has become an issue then it might be worth considering taking a break from your blog. It works wonders for some people but then others just don't like the thought. At the start of this year I was feeling quite stressed with all of my school work but instead of taking a complete break I just cut down on the amount of posts I was writing. I found that very helpful as when I came back to it I was bursting with ideas! If taking a long break isn't your thing then why not try turning off for a day or even a few hours. Take a break from all social media, go for a walk, take a bath or whatever works for you.

What inspires you to blog?

Love,
Cliona xx
