Blue Skies, Ice-cream, The Pier & Lace Details

Blue skies, a calm sea, sunshine and a 99
ice-cream are all you need to have a perfect day......

If you're ever planning a trip to Dublin then you need to put Dun Laoghaire on your to-visit list. It simply breathtaking with a long pier walk where you watch the sail boats glide past, little blue benches that compliment the colour of the sea, a beautifully architected gazebo with stunning attention to detail and amazing views over the harbour that could rival the likes of Monaco. Although I do think they need to do something about those rusty railings - I doubt Monaco would let their railings go rusty ;-) As well as all that beauty they also have some lovely restaurants. We decided to make a pit stop at a gourmet burger restaurant and it was lovely. I love the novelty of eating by the sea, it somehow makes the food taste better! Another thing Dun Laoghaire is famous for is 'Teddy's Ice-Cream' which do the best 99 in Dublin. Yum!

As for the outfit I had no idea how hot it was so I quickly regretted the jeans. In my defence it had been raining the day before so you can never get it right with our temperamental Irish weather ;-). Anyway these are my new jeans which I picked up in Bershka for only €20! I love Bershka for their good quality clothes at affordable prices. I'm always finding great bargains in there! I was glad that I wore my light lacy top from Zara because even though it has long sleeves it's light and flowy which keeps me cool in the Summer months. You may recognise it from my birthday outfit and since then it's become a staple in my wardrobe. I wear it in the winter under a blazer/ jacket like this statement jacket or I can wear it on its own in the warmer months without becoming a sweaty Betty ;-) It was a little more expensive than I'd normally pay for a white top but it's an investment piece no doubt.

All in all this was such a perfect Summer's day! I wish I could do things like this all year. And as the French would say 'Vive Les Vacances'!

What's your favourite thing to do when the sun is shining?

Love,
Cliona xx
