Shorts Weather

Another sunny day means another shorts
and tee combination.........

.........

This is probably a controversial opinion but I'm not too fond of the Summer months. Obviously I love the time off school but in terms of weather I prefer chilly days, leaves falling and maybe even a bit of snow too ;-) Now that it's August I'm getting quite excited for Autumn fashion - winter coats, wooly hats, ankle boots, cosy layers, it's my favourite time to dress for! Although I love a good heatwave you just can't beat the Autumn weather. Anyway before the Autumn comes I have a few more summery outfits to share.....

However when it is sunny my favourite thing to wear is light, flowy shorts and a comfortable t-shirt. I love dresses and I wear them all the time but to be honest I much prefer them with a pair of tights and some ankle boots than a light summery one with sandals. Last year I came across these gorgeous blue and white tribal print shorts in H&M but I never got the chance to wear them as I picked them up quite late in the Summer. But when the weather was nice a few weeks ago I took advantage of it and debuted the shorts. They're made of a light silky material and they're flowy which makes them so comfortable - ideal for if you've over indulged in a nice restaurant on your holliers, if ya know what I'm sayin' *wink wink*

I decided to make the outfit fun and chic by adding different colours and textures. I kept the top quite simple but went for one with a little bit of lace detail at the top. I just love this top as it's simple yet playful at the same time. It could go really well with a basic pair of jeans or you could wear it with a patterned skirt or trousers. I love finding basic tops with a bit of detail like this one as they add some life to a boring top. I wasn't too sure how well the orange bag would go with the shorts but I was pleasantly surprised. The colours contrasted and complimented each other well, and I thought the blue really brought out the orange and made it look more vibrant. I also added a little straw hat and some strappy sandals to create the ultimate chic summer outfit.

What's your favourite weather to dress for?

Love,
Cliona xx

    1. I get what you mean - I feel the exact same! I feel like I can express myself better in the colder weather whereas in the summer it's just so awkward to dress for. Especially because we have such temperamental weather so It's really hard to know what to wear. It's such a pain :-( Thanks a mil for reading Beth xx
