5 of my favourite products from
the month of August.....

Soap & Glory Orangasm review

August has ended and it's time to do what bloggers do best; round up our favourite beauty bits from the previous month. It's been a while since a monthly favourites post has featured on but we're back and August was a cracker of a month beauty wise.

The first favourite will come as no surprise because I've mentioned it quite a few times on my blog over the last few months. I am of course talking about the Soap and Glory Orangasm body wash. For a creamy wash that lathers well and smells citrusy look no further! There's always 3 for 2 offers on Soap & Glory products so I usually stock up on their body washes as they work out at a much better value than your average supermarket shower gel. Speaking of 3 for 2 offers, there's currently one happening on all S&G products in Boots *runs to Boots as fast as lightening*

My standout skincare product this month has been La Roche Posay Serozinc toner. As I explained in my recent skincare favourites post, it's a zinc sulphate solution that's designed to reduce shine and mattify the skin. It's aimed at oily-blemish prone skin but my skin is dry and sensitive, as well as being prone to blemishes. Since I've incorporated this into my routine I've been getting less breakouts and the overall texture of my skin has improved. It's the only non-hydrating toner that I've used that isn't drying or stripping. Love it!

My first makeup favourite was the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. This has a light to medium coverage which is perfect for everyday wear and it provides a gorgeous healthy glow to the skin. It has a sweet fruity scent which I found odd as I've never come across a foundation with that type of scent before, but hey, as long as it doesn't smell like Mac foundations then it's all good ;-) It also feels light on the skin, blends easily and it doesn't accentuate any of my dry patches. It's a definitive makeup bag must-have in my opinion!

Another makeup companion last month was my Mac lipstick in 'Modesty'. For those of you that read my Mac haul will know that this has not left my lips since I purchased it. An everyday wearable muted neutral pink shade that goes with all makeup looks from subtle to dramatic. It has smooth a creamy texture which applies like a dream and it provides a slight sheen to the lips. This is my first Mac lipstick and I'm officially hooked - My sister is off to America so I've asked her to pick up a few in duty free and my 18th birthday is coming up in October so I may or may not be asking for a few then ;-)

My last favourite is some Blank Canvas Cosmetics brushes. Irish beauty bloggers rave about these brushes constantly and I don't know why it's taken me so long to try them. I love all of my Real Techniques brushes and I always remain loyal to them but recently I decided it was time to step out of my makeup brush comfort zone and try something new. The first brush I picked up was the F20 which is a flat buffer brush. It blends foundation in seamlessly and it gives an almost airbrushed effect. It definitely has improved the performance of most of my foundations and it only cost a mere €14.99! This is the best foundation brush I've ever used and it's hot pink *insert heart eye emoji* I also picked up the F04 angled brush which is perfect for contouring but I also like to use it for blush. Lastly, I got the E26 which is a fluffy tapered blending brush that blends eyeshadow effortlessly. Move over Real Techniques because I have a new favourite brand for brushes!

  1. This is a good roundup. Just like you, I love my RT brushes, but lately I've been searching for something new. Blank Canvas sounds promising!
