Recent Haircare Favourites

I've been trialling some new haircare
products recently and here's the low-
down of three of my favourites.........

......

1. Garnier Ultimate Blends Strength Restorer Shampoo & Conditioner: This is my second time to try products from the Garner Ultimate Blends range. I fell in love with all of the products in the 'sleek restorer' range and I even reviewed them sometime last year. Since that review I haven't touched another shampoo and conditioner which is a first for me because normally I jump at the chance to try new products. But not this time, this haircare range has stolen my heart but a few weeks ago I felt like trying something new. I didn't want to completely ditch these products as they're the best I've ever used but to switch things up I decided to try some of the other ranges. This time I went for 'the strength restorer'.

I use a lot of heat on my hair between curling, straightening and blow drying, and as a result my hair is quite damaged and let's not even discuss the split ends because I'm too nervous to go to the hairdresser. This particular range isn't designed for spilt ends though and they have a range catered to that so I might give that one a go next time (or maybe I should just get over my fear of the hairdresser and get a trim! Haha! I haven't gotten it done since christmas *insert embarrassed emoji*). This shampoo and conditioner isn't a miracle worker but, hey, it's good none-the-less. I think it has improved the strength of my hair and it does feel a lot healthier since I've incorporated this into my routine. Not only has it improved the overall strength of my hair but it also leaves it feeling silky soft, shiny, sleek and it also leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean. The main ingredient is honey so it's safe to say that it smells amazing! A lovely sweet scent that isn't overpowering at all. I have the larger size which is 400ml and it lasts a lifetime - seriously we're talking a good few months! Bargain alert! All of the Ultimate Blends products are paraben free which is something I always look for in a shampoo and conditioner.

2. Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Intensive Moisture Mask: As I said before my hair is dry and damaged so hydrating hair products are a must for me. Hair masks are my heroes and this one from Herbal Essences has been doing a smashing job! It has a gorgeous light, coconut smell which makes my hair smell beautiful - although it only lingers for around a day which is disappointing because it's a beautiful scent. Herbal Essences recommend leaving it on for one minute but I always leave it on for a good 15-20 minutes to ensure better results and I might even pop on a face mask and paint my nails whilst I wait to create the ultimate pamper session {you may as well treat yourself *wink wink*}. It has a thick consistency which leaves the hair feeling incredibly soft and hydrated. I also notice that my hair isn't as frizzy whenever I use this and it always looks a lot sleeker. Not bad for €6.50, eh? I'm very impressed indeed!

3. L'oreal Studio Line Heat Protectant Spray: My all-time favourite heat protectant is the Toni & Guy Heat Protection Mist but €10 just for a heat protectant is an awful lot of money. I've been trying to find a good one that lives up to the Toni & Guy version and I've discovered a few good ones throughout my search including one from VO5 which I reviewed last summer and still to this day I highly rate it. But recently a new heat protectant from L'oreal has been getting all of the love from me.

It's half the price of the Toni & Guy spray at just €4.99 but it still does a wonderful job! It claims to provide 3-day straight hair but unfortunately I only get two days out it before I have to stick it up in a messy bun {aka 'the hun bun' ;-)}. It leaves my hair feeling soft, looking sleek and glossy and it also minimises frizz as well as protecting my hair of course. Lovely. It has a nice sweet fruity smell but unfortunately it's not as nice as the Toni & Guy spray, but pleasant none-the-less. Other than their Elnett hairspray I haven't tried any L'oreal haircare but I was quite impressed with this spray that I might need to give some of their other products a try.

What are your current favourite haircare products?

Love,
Cliona xx
