monochrome outfit
classic monochrome outfit
sleeveless blazer & roll neck ootd

It's been a hectic few weeks with study, study, and more study. I've exams coming up in a few weeks so it's all go! I had spent the whole summer planning my posts up until Christmas and I even have most of them sitting in my drafts just waiting to be finished..... But unfortunately, I just don't have the energy to get them all finished and scheduled. I'm not really stressed about this exam year, I'm just worn out and exhausted. And even though it'd probably only take me about an hour to get all the posts finished, I just don't want to be uploading for the sake of it and I never want to publish something unless I'm 100% happy with it. I'm really struggling to get a healthy balance between the blog and studying, but hopefully I'll find my feet soon. Anyway, I just wanted to say that things will remain quiet around here until my exams are over. I'm going to take a few days off from studying throughout December so there should be loads more content coming your way - and just in time for my favourite time of the year ;-)

My wardrobe is usually quite colourful but every now and then I like to sport the classic monochrome look. It's finally cold enough to dig out my roll necks and high neck jumpers and I came across this black one from H&M. I knew it would look lovely paired with my white sleeveless blazer and I decided to throw a black and gold belt for a bit of statement. For a 'Blair Waldorf' feel, I popped on my black floppy hat and a lacy skirt! I do love trying to recreate her style ;-)

What's On The High Street: Balmain x H&M

Sunday, 8 November 2015

The highly anticipated collaboration between H&M
and Balmain was released on Thursday and everyone
around the world went mad for it............

Balmain x H&M

Instead of just sharing my top 5 pieces from the collection, I thought I'd scour the web for cheaper pieces to pair with my favourite Balmain items. The first item that I fell completely head over heels for was the black velvet top. I love the abstract pattern on it and the little gold zips add a gorgeous bit of detail to the top. I also love the style of the top - the high neck and the shoulder pads make for a chic, sophisticated look. The suede waist belt from the green collection was another favourite of mine. The leather trimming around the edges and the gold buttons are gorgeous. This belt would certainly add a statement factor to any outfit!

I really wanted to pick up both of these pieces but the ques were just too crazy and wouldn't have been possible with my anxiety :-( If I had managed to pick them up, I would've paired them with a leather skirt - I spotted this one in River Island reduced to €14 so that would certainly make up for the blow of the prices of the Balmain collection *wink wink* And lastly, to finish off the look, I think a pair of black boots with a little gold detail would look lovely.

The next piece is what dreams are made of..... and of course, I'm speaking about the famous bead embellished blazer. At €399 this certainly wasn't cheap but it's a classic looking Balmain piece and it looks way more expensive than it was. And not to mention it was worn by Kendall Jenner herself and if it's good enough for Kendall....... well, then it's certainly good enough for me ;-) It would look amazing with an LBD for a night out but for a casual day-to-day look I'd pair it with some grey jeans and some heeled grey boots.

My favourite part of the line was the black & gold collection. They had some staple pieces that would never date and one of those items that I had my eye on was the wrap coat with the gold buttons. This is a classic piece that will see you through many winters to come. I think it would look great worn with the embellished shirt, a pair of dusty pink jeans and some cool wedge runners.

Did you pick up anything from the collection?
And what's your favourite piece from the collection?
