Light some candles, get the Buble Christmas
album out and preheat your ovens for today's
Christmas baking post......
.......
You all know how much I love to bake, but there's just something that makes baking at this time of year more special. There's a copious amount of different festive recipes out there so trying to decide what to bake over the festive season is quite a difficult task. For my first bake of Blogmas, I thought I'd start off with a simple classic recipe that everyone loves: shortbread biscuits.
I found a great recipe on the Food Network website and I was delighted with how they turned out. They were light, buttery and crumbly; everything a shortbread biscuit should be! I chose a few different shapes from the classic star to cute little Christmas trees and a few snowflakes thrown in for good measure.
I didn't adapt the recipe at all so I'll just leave you to have a read of it for yourself (here). And if you do make them, I hope you like them as I much as I do! I know I've already eaten way too many..... ah well, 'tis the season and all that jazz ;-)
What will you be baking over the festive period?
Happy Blogmas!
Love,
Cliona xx
