The Pippa Palette Review

Last summer the lovely Pippa O'Connor from released a palette and I was very excited to get my hands on it. Unfortunately, whenever I went to buy it, it was sold out but I knew it was going to be worth the wait. I've never come across a bad review of it and my review will be no different as I'm utterly obsessed with it!

What's inside? It comes with 6 matte eyeshadows, 1 blush, 1 highlighter and a contour powder. This palette is ideal if you're a makeup beginner, for travelling/ doing makeup on the go {very handy for those mornings when you've hit the snooze button on your alarm & have to do your makeup in the car *wink wink*} and it's also handy if you're not really into makeup because you have everything you need in one palette so you won't need to buy much else. What I love about the Pippa palette the most is that it is multifunctional - it can be used for a natural daytime look, a dramatic smokey eye and it can take you from day to night.

Packaging: I don't normally write such an in-depth piece about a product's packaging as I don't usually think it's important. However, as I feel this palette is great for travelling with and carrying around in your handbag I thought it was important to mention how durable it is.

When I first got it I was weary that the cardboard packaging would be a bit flimsy but to my surprise, it actually is a lot more sturdy than it first appears. I got this back in April and I've been carrying it around in my school bag as well as my handbag so it's gotten a good battering but yet it remains as good as new.

I also love the mirror in this and to be honest sometimes I just carry it around for that alone. It's the biggest mirror I've ever come across in a palette so it makes it much handier than the Naked palettes.

The Eyeshadows: The pigmentation and quality of each eyeshadow are incredible. They're smooth and velvety in texture and they're a dream to blend. I don't get any fallout with the lighter shades and I only get a tiny amount of fallout with the black and darkest brown shades.

{Shades L to R:}

'K.D' - Matte Black

'Dodo' - Matte Dark Brown

'Susu' - Matte Warm Brown

'Tobi' - Matte Soft Brown

'Ollie' - Matte Nude

'Lily' - Matte White

Blush, contour & highlight: The blush is called 'Pipsy' and is a gorgeous peachy pink shade which is perfect for the summer. I don't usually go for matte blushers but I do quite like this one as it's easy to wear. It's not very pigmented so it's very easy to use and great for a quick swipe when you're in a rush.

The contour powder is called 'Amour' and it's replaced all of my other contour shades! I haven't used anything else since I got this. It works well for our pale Irish skin and it's perfect for a natural everyday contour.

The highlighter called 'Lulu' is the star of the show for me! It's a beautiful golden shimmery colour and the pigmentation is incredible! One swipe is lovely for a natural glow which is what I've done in this look {although you can't see it well - sorry about that!} and then you can build it up for a more intense look which is what I normally do on a daily basis.

My favourite everyday eyeshadow combination:
1. I love wearing 'Ollie' all over the lid as it's a light neutral shade and I find that it helps the other shadows blend together.

2. I then blend 'Tobi' into the crease and right up to the brow bone using my Blank Canvas E25 blending brush.

3. I blend 'Susu' right into the crease and don't go up as far as Tobi. I use the Blank Canvas E26 brush.

4. I then take 'Dodo' on a Blank Canvas E23 brush which is a pencil brush & I place that on the outer corner of my eye and blend it out with the Blank Canvas E32 brush.

5. Lastly, I place a bit of the 'Lulu' highlighter on the inner corners to make my eyes pop!

Where to buy it? The Pippa Palette can be bought on cloud 10 beauty here or else Blank Canvas' website here
