The A/W Workwear Edit

The A/W Work Wear Edit
A/W work wear outfit post
What to wear to work this Autumn

A 'Devil Wears Prada' inspired office look!

For today's style post, I thought I'd bring you something a little different; What to wear to work! I've never blogged about workwear before, mainly because I've never worked in an office but I have something to admit: I would love to work in an office and I'm always jealous when I see women wearing pencil skirts and their trainers as they head to the office. I fell in love with 'office wear' the minute I saw The Devil Wears Prada when I was about 12 and ever since I've wanted to work in an office ;-) Everyone's office dress code is different and this mightn't be something you'd wear but I thought I'd share a Devil Wears Prada inspired office look, and hopefully someday I can wear something like this to work.......

1. Structured Coat
Whether your office is casual or formal, a structured coat will always come in handy for your 'work wardrobe'. There's just something about this style of coat that pulls an outfit together and the faux fur detail on my Zara coat most certainly makes a statement. The blush colour along with the faux fur is fun and playful but the structure of the coat still allows it to be formal looking.

| 2. Roll Neck Tops |
Regardless of whether you work in an office or don't, roll neck tops and jumpers are a must-have piece in your A/W wardrobe! I currently own a grey roll neck jumper and a black roll neck top and every year when the colder months return I always get a tonne of wear out of them. Similarly to polo necks, they add a touch of sophistication to any outfit as well as keeping you cosy, which makes them great for office wear! If your office is as cold as my Mam's then you most definitely need a few roll necks to keep you snug as a bug!

3. All-Black Outfit
You can never go wrong with an all-black outfit! They go with everything and you can always add a statement piece like my coat or a nice blazer to make it more interesting. And not to mention it's such a classic look that you can wear any day of the week, whatever you're doing.

4. Block Heel Boots
I'm not the biggest fan of high heels and I try to avoid them as much as possible - I'm all about the comfort! But block heels are a great substitute as they do all the work that a pair of heels can do but they offer comfort as well. Here are 6 reasons why you should have a pair of block heel boots in your A/W workwear wardrobe:

1. They dress up an outfit.

2. They provide a bit of height.

3. They make your legs appear longer.

4. They keep your feet cosy should there be any rain or snow.

5. You can get a plain classic pair or you can get a statement pair with a fun print if that floats your boat.

6. And most importantly they're comfortable!
