| 2016 Outfits & Top 9 Blog Posts Of The Year! |

It's almost time to close the last chapter of another year and step into the first chapter of a new year. 2016 wasn't the best year, both personally and in terms of world events. Despite that, I think this was the best year for my blog in relation to content and growth. I finally learnt that I can't control what goes on in the world or what life throws at me, but one thing I can control is my blog. And so I decided to pour my heart and soul into my space on the internet to make it a happy place for me (and hopefully others) to come to and forget what's going on, even just for a few moments.

I'm pleased to say that I've achieved that and I wanted to reflect on some of my 2016 posts in some way. Last year I did a roundup of my favourite outfits in 2015 and this year I decided to do something very similar. I love the post that I did last year because I can look back on it and compare my outfits in 2016 to see how my style has evolved.

It's also a great way for me to see how my outfit photography and fashion posts have improved. One of my 2015 goals was to improve my outfit photography and I accomplished that as my photos improved drastically. My 2016 photography goal was more focused on improving my flatlays and product photography, but I feel as though my outfit photography has further improved this year as well. I feel a lot more confident with posing and I no longer care what people around me think as I'm shooting. I've also found some amazing new locations to shoot in and I'm excited to discover more of my city in 2017 as I hunt for appropriate locations for future outfit posts.

3. The End Of An Era

The outfit posts were in their minority last Spring as you might remember I was buried under endless piles of books in preparation for the LC. My outfits weren't really that exciting so you didn't miss much but one outfit that I lived in was the monochrome one on the right-hand side of the photo. It was fuss-free, casual and comfortable which was perfect for studying! I practically lived in it every day.

In all honesty, I hate summer style as I don't feel like I've 'nailed it' yet. One of my 2017 style goals is to be more comfortable with summer fashion. One outfit that I was obsessed with though was the burnt orange loose jogger-style trousers paired with one of my favourite River Island tops. The outfit was loose and comfy, and I'm even looking forward to sporting it again next summer!

Transitional Style:

The biggest transitioning period of the year is always the beginning of Autumn as you can feel the cold creeping in a lot more drastically than you would feel the arrival of warmer weather. I find that time of year incredibly easy to dress for as you can quickly throw on a few light layers. The lace-up trend was very popular this year and as you can see from the photos I was a fan! The lace-up jumper and lace-up skirt both from Missguided were two of my favourite style pieces in 2016.

I wonder what my favourite season could be? The copious amount of outfit posts I shot during the Autumn speak for themselves and confirm my love of Autumn. It's the best time to shoot outfits as I get to wear a cosy outfit which we all know I'm obsessed with, but my fingers don't go numb with the freezing temperatures!

During the Autumn my style sort of evolved as I started to incorporate capsule outfits into my style. I've always been very fond of unique, girly outfits and whilst that element is still present with some blush pink making an appearance and that elegant Blair Waldorf-esque outfit in the V By Very for Littlewoods Ireland post, I wanted to create a few basic outfits that I could wear for almost every occasion. The khaki blazer from Zara and my camel coat are the perfect capsule items and I'm so glad that I added them to my wardrobe!

Winter outfit roundup

The Winter is only really beginning as we usually get a very cold January and February so there'll be lots more Winter style to come. But for the moment we have two cosy outfits that are perfect for the chilly weather - Now all I need is a bit of snow to go with them *wink wink*

Beauty posts are also very popular so I'll keep those rolling out in the New Year too. But I'd love to know what type of posts are your favourite to read! I'm very excited to start planning my content for the New Year and I'm hoping that things on will be bigger and better!
