| Christmas Party Handbag Essentials! |
We've officially reached the festive period and across the world, work Christmas parties are starting to kick off. I'm not working at the moment so there'll be no 'office Christmas party' for me this year but there's always events and other festivities happening, so having a few products for touch ups is essential. Whether your Christmas party is at your Granny's house or at a fancy club, here are my top 3 Christmas party beauty essentials that'll fit in even the smallest of clutch bags.1. Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Lipstick & Powder Compact Duo*:
This powder and lipstick duo is the most unique makeup product I've ever come across. The idea behind it is that you have two of the most important products together in one compact so that you can easily find them and don't spend valuable minutes of your day searching for your lipstick at the bottom of your bag. We've all been there!
You all know how much I love my rose gold packaging but recently I've been favouring gold packaging. To me, gold packaging looks classic, understated and elegant, and that's exactly what the packaging of the Joan Collins range achieves.
The compact houses a setting powder that is finely milled and smooth. It's a simple matte powder that reduces shine, stops concealer creasing and ensures my makeup lasts that bit longer. But what makes this powder standout is that it's not cakey looking, it doesn't cling to my dry patches or accentuate them and the best part is that it doesn't look like I'm wearing powder at all which is always the sign of a good powder. The shade suits my fair skin tone perfectly and the powder provides a flawless but natural skin-like finish. This is my current favourite powder, even replacing my beloved powder from the Hourglass Surreal Light palette!
Inside the compact, there's also the lipstick which has a luxe gold exterior and the initials JC engraved on the lid. The shade is a dark brown-toned nude which is my favourite type of nude for the winter months. The shade is one of those type of nudes that have the ability to make lips look fuller and plumper aka 'The Kylie Jenner lip' that we all know and love! The formula of the lipstick is incredible as it's creamy and nourishing which is perfect for the winter months. As you can see from the swatch and the photo of me wearing the lipstick below, it's very pigmented and although it's not a matte lipstick, I find that the pigment stays for a good few hours because this particular shade is so deep. Even as it wears off, a little bit of the colour remains at the end of the day.
All in all, this is very handy essential for your Christmas party as well as being a handbag staple throughout the year!
2. L'oreal Lumi Magique Concealer Pen:
Whenever I go all out with my makeup routine I like to apply cream highlight and one of my all time products to use is this L'oreal pen. It's just as good as the Mac Prep & Prime version, except the L'oreal one has pink undertones rather than yellow which is what Mac 'Light Boost' has. This product is great for under the eyes as it adds radiance and the pink undertones counteract the blue/purple of the under-eye area.
It also works well as a cream highlight on the chin, down the centre of the nose and where the forehead starts as it adds radiance to the skin, making my complexion look brighter and healthier. I find that foundation/cream highlight is usually the first product that starts to break down as my t-zone is a little oily so having the L'oreal pen in my handbag is a must for touch ups. The brush applicator means it's very easy and quick to apply, making it ideal for on-the-go touch ups, and the slim packaging and the lightweight feel of the product make it easy to throw in any size bag.
3. Coach Eau De Parfum:
I was given a sample of this perfume in a recent Feel Unique order and it's become my favourite perfume! I might need to purchase the full size as the notes of raspberry leaves, Turkish roses and suede musk combine together to provide a sweet feminine scent. I love sweet scents and hardly stray away from them but as the day went on the sweet scent faded and transformed into a fresh scent whilst still maintaining a touch of sweetness as the base note of suede musk became the prominent feature of the fragrance. I loved the fresh, musky part of this scent and it's even made me want to try some musk perfumes in the future.
This has been added to my wish list as the perfume is everything I look for in a daily scent. But for now, the sample size fits perfectly into a clutch bag or my small makeup bag. If you have any sample size perfumes then they're a perfect handbag companion, especially for this time of year!
