Top 5 Charlotte Tilbury Products

Top 5 Charlotte Tilbury Products!

My love for Charlotte Tilbury is no secret and I've built up a nice little collection of her products since I first discovered the brand. It was hard to round up my top five as I love everything I've tried from the brand but the products I chose are definitely the most used in my collection. From an Autumnal quad to a dreamy cream eyeshadow to the perfect nude lip combo, here are my top five products from Charlotte Tilbury.

The best product I've tried from Charlotte Tilbury is without a doubt the Filmstar Bronze & Glow paletteI managed to nab it at €36 earlier in the year but to be honest I would pay the full €65 to repurchase it as it's worth every penny! The quality of both the bronzer and the highlighter is exceptional and you'd pay over 40 quid for some individual bronzers and highlighters so the price doesn't work out too bad.

Autumn is fast approaching and I'm all about warm smokey eyes for the enchanting season so the Dolce Vita palette is perfect! The four shades in the palette are ideal for creating a quick and simple sultry smokey eye. The soft luxurious formula of each eyeshadow makes them easy to blend and the copper shade makes my blue eyes pop.

Simple products that are quick and easy to use are imperative in my everyday makeup bag and the Eyes To Mesmerise in Jean fits that description perfectly. The dreamy champagne hue can be quickly swiped all over the lids to make my eyes appear awake and fresh, and it complements a fresh minimal dewy makeup look for everyday wear.

I never thought I'd pay over €20 for a lip liner but there was an alluring appeal to the Charlotte Tilbury liners. My intrigue got the better of me and I ended up forking out the dosh to try the most famous lip liner from her range, Pillow Talk. But I can definitely see why it's so popular - The creamy texture glides onto the lips, the wear-time is excellent and the shade is the perfect nude hue that compliments a wide range of nude lipstick shades.

I usually pair my Bitch Perfect lipstick with the liner. The slightly darker hue of Pillow Talk blends in nicely with the peachy nude shade of Bitch Perfect, making my lips appear a little bit fuller.

What are your favourite Charlotte Tilbury products?

Cliona xx

A Few Sunday Essentials

Non-beauty favourites

A Few Non-Beauty Favourites!

Self-care Sunday is my favourite day of the week and I like to spend most of the day doing mindful activities that help me relax and unwind before the new week starts. Although, as this post goes live I'll be painting our new house so I'm not sure how mindful or relaxing that is, haha! Anyway, for today's post, I wanted to share a few of my essentials for my relaxing self-care Sunday.

New Makeup Releases You Need To Know About

Friday 18 August 2017

| New Makeup Releases You Need To Know About! |

I recently wrote a post about some new makeup releases but since then there's been a host of new products launched onto the market, so today I'll be rounding up a few that have caught my eye. From ethereal highlighters to some luxurious liquid lipsticks to hot eyeshadow palettes, here are a few new products to add to your ever growing Christmas list *wink wink*

It's getting hot in here with Urban Decay's latest launch, the Naked Heat palette. I bought the palette a few weeks ago and I instantly fell in love with it! To me, this is Autumn in a palette with all the red-toned, coppery, pink hues and it has become my all-time favourite Urban Decay palette. It's the most cohesive palette they've released, there's a full complement of shades and I don't need to reach for other palettes to create a look. I highly recommend it!

The beauty industry is on fire at the moment as SoSueMe just dropped a scorching eyeshadow palette called Hot Fire. This went on pre-sale a few days ago but I always like to wait for reviews before I buy anything to make sure it's actually good. The warm-toned neutral shades are right up my street so I'm eager to see what people think of the quality!

L'Oreal paradise mascara

I have absolutely no self-control when it comes to palettes as I have my eye on yet another one! The Nars Bord De Plage palette has been calling my name for weeks. One can never have too many highlighters or bronzers, can they? *insert monkey with his hands over his eyes emoji*

Speaking of Nars, they've just launched their new Power Matte Lip Pigments. As the name would suggest it's a long-lasting matte liquid lipstick and there are 20 shades in the range. I'm intrigued to see if they're drying though.

Another brand to jump on the liquid lipstick bandwagon is Charlotte Tilbury with her new Hollywood Lips range. These matte liquid lipsticks are supposed to glide onto the lips like a gloss so hopefully, they won't be drying. I have my eye on the shades Charlotte Darling, Too Bad I'm Bad and Pin Up Pink - Swoon!

And lastly, I bought the new L'Oreal Paradise mascara about a week ago and I'm loving it! Dare I say it's as good as the Maybelline Lash Sensational! It's everything I look for in a mascara - It gives me long, voluminous and separated lashes. The formula isn't too wet which means it doesn't end up on my brow bone during application, haha, and there wasn't any clumping or flaking. And the packaging is just beautiful too!

What new makeup releases are on your wish list?

Love,
Cliona xx

My Pink & Rose Gold Makeup Collection

Wednesday 16 August 2017

Pink & rose gold makeup collection

My Pink & Rose Gold Makeup Collection!

We're moving house soon so I thought I'd start having a little clear out. As I was going through my makeup collection I noticed there was a lot of pink and rose gold packaging so I thought I'd share a few of my current favourite products that have pink and rose gold packaging.

One of my favourite base products, the Too Faced Hangover Primer, is housed in quintessential "girly" pink packaging and although the bottle is without a doubt beautiful, it's the product itself that makes this such a popular product. It's beloved by many for its hydrating properties which helps those of us with dry or dehydrated skin woes to achieve a smooth, hydrated base for foundation application.

Charlotte Tilbury's eponymous brand is renowned for the luxurious rose gold packaging and the Magic Foundation is one of my favourite packaged products from her collection. This foundation can be a little tricky to work with but once I've primed my skin properly and I take my time applying the foundation it looks beautiful.

To make myself look more awake and fresh in the mornings I like to apply a brightening concealer and the L'oreal Lumi Magique concealer is my product of choice. It adds luminosity to the under eye area making it look like I've had a good night's sleep.

I couldn't talk about rose gold products without mentioning the Bronze & Glow palette from Charlotte Tilbury. If there was an award for the prettiest packaging of all time then this little palette would win! Inside the beautiful packaging, you'll find a light bronzer {perfect for pale skin!} and a wearable highlighter, making it the perfect pick for my everyday makeup bag!

My pink palette of choice is, of course, the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. It has a range of various different hues to create any type of look from simple everyday makeup to a statement look with a bit of colour.

Speaking of eyeshadows, I've been loving the Tanya Burr My Paradise eyeshadow palette for everyday wear recently. The quad consists of a champagne shade, a copper hue, a rose gold shade as well as a matte brown so it has everything I need to create a simple wearable look.

My favourite mascara of all-time is Maybelline Lash Sensational which comes in a gorgeous pinky-purple tube. This budget-friendly mascara makes my lashes look longer, more voluminous and gives the lashes a curl. I haven't found a mascara that beats this one!

My favourite step of makeup application is always the lipstick step and my favourite rose gold options are, surprise surprise, from Charlotte Tilbury! Bitch Perfect is my favourite everyday nude shade and Kidman's Kiss is a wearable pretty pink shade.

Have you any pink or rose gold favourites?

Love,
Cliona xx

Summer Fashion & Beauty Favourites

Summer Fashion & Beauty Favourites

Summer Fashion & Beauty Favourites!

Autumn is slowly creeping up on us but before the time comes to don ankle boots and berry lipsticks once again, I'm making the most of the last few weeks of Summer. I've gathered some seasonal fashion and beauty favourites that will help me "roll out [the last of] those lazy, hazy, crazy days of Summer".

There have been a few bouts of warm weather this Summer and I've been reaching for my refreshing companion, the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist, a lot. This facial spray is cooling and soothing on the skin during the hot weather as well as providing the skin with some nourishing ingredients. Linoleic acid, various B-group vitamins, black oat, provitamin A and the hot topic in the beauty industry at the moment Hyaluronic Acid can all be found in this little bottle of magic.

A warm sun-kissed glow is the epitome of Summer and my favourite bronzer for achieving the look this year is the Becca Sunlit bronzer.  Bali Sands, the palest shade in the range, is a pale warm shade with minute golden particles diffused into it, making it the quintessential Summer bronzer for adding warmth to the face without looking muddy.

I normally associate the dreamy champagne hue of The Balm Mary-Lou highlighter with the colder weather but recently it's made its way back to my makeup bag. It's just the prettiest everyday highlighter that always flatters my skin even on bad skin days.

Another champagne favourite that I've rediscovered my love for is the Mac vanilla pigment. This looks beautiful on the lid paired with some warm brown hues and it has a dreamy celestial finish that makes me feel like I'm a Disney princess *insert winking emoji*

I'm loving my bracelet and ring from Les Georgettes* and the colourful leather bands make them the perfect Summer accessory. The bands are interchangeable so I can switch them around to suit whatever outfit I'm wearing. You can get 15% off a bracelet or ring using the code CLIONA.

An emblazoned piece is a Summer essential and my vivid orange bag adorned in colourful jewels from Parfois is the perfect pick! This is my favourite bag in my collection and I'll never get bored of the breathtaking design *insert love heart eyes emoji*

What are your Summer fashion and beauty favourites?

Summer Pamper Evening

Wednesday 9 August 2017

Summer Pamper Evening

Summer Pamper Evening!

Relaxing pamper evenings are usually associated with Autumn/Winter but I'm a creature of comfort and I like to create a cosy, magical vibe every evening, no matter what season it is. Resplendent fairy lights draped along the fireplace, twinkling candles, an enchanting book, a steaming mug of tea and wrapping up in a cosy blanket or dressing gown are all ways to create a cosy evening at home, but my all-time favourite way to spend a cosy evening is having an indulgent pamper session.

I begin my pamper evening by removing my makeup and I'm currently using the Magnitone Wipeout! Cleansing Cloths*. It's a micro fibre cloth that removes makeup with just warm water, making it a quick and convenient way to take off makeup. The cloths feel really soft so they're gentle and don't tug the skin which is ideal for anyone with sensitive skin, acne or any other skin conditions. They completely remove full coverage foundation and heavy eye makeup and they're quick and easy to use!

After I've removed my makeup I like to follow up using a cleansing oil to make sure my skin is thoroughly cleansed and I can always rely on the Superfacialist Vitamin C Cleansing Oil. This gently cleanses the skin whilst the skin-loving ingredients such as vitamin c, olive oil, grapeseed and rosehip oils provide nourishment and hydration to the skin.

My skincare routine ends with a luscious oil slathered onto my skin and my favourite to use during pamper evenings is the Aesop Fabulous Face Oil {Review}. This sweet herbaceous scented oil nourishes the skin whilst also soothing the skin. My skin always feels so soft and smooth in the morning after applying it!

Garnier Ultimate Blends Lotion

It wouldn't be a pamper evening without a bath and my favourite bath treat to use is the Zoella Bath Latte. The rich indulgent almond scent evokes memories of cosy Autumn evenings and it's getting me excited for the upcoming season!

I've been using a new body moisturiser recently and it's a perfect pamper evening treat! The Garnier Ultimate Blends Soothing Hydrating Lotion is a hypoallergenic product designed for dry and sensitive skin so it's ideal for me. Recently I had really dry flaky patches that I couldn't get rid of with the moisturiser I was using so I picked this up instead. I've been using it for a few weeks now and my pesky dry patches have gone and my skin has been soft as a baby's since I've incorporated this into my routine.

The final step of my pamper ritual is nail care and I've been testing out the Magnitone Instant Shine Manicure System* recently. The device comes with five interchangeable heads to buff, file, remove hard skin and polish the nails. The buffing head and the nail file head are amazing as they're more effective and much quicker to use than traditional nail buffers and emery boards. But it's the polish head that amazed me the most; Within a few seconds, my nails have a glossy shine. I would normally never go a day without nail polish but now I can because my nails are shining and look healthy! Since I started using this my nails feel stronger, smoother, healthier and nail polish is lasting longer too. This device has been a game-changer for me!

What are your Summer pamper evening essentials?

Cliona xx

New Pieces In My Jewellery Collection From Les Georgettes

Sunday 6 August 2017

Les Georgettes Bracelet

New Pieces In My Jewellery Collection From Les Georgettes!

I never feel fully dressed until I'm adorned in Jewellery. It's the finishing touches that add detail to an outfit and pull the entire look together. As well as adding beautiful details to an outfit, jewellery also has the ability to tell a story. Special and well-made jewellery become classic pieces in our collection that will be cherished forever throughout every stage in our lives, so having customisable jewellery in my collection allows me to tailor them for every different occasion.

I was recently contacted by a French jewellery brand called Les Georgettes By Altesse whose concept is customisable jewellery with interchangeable leather bands. You can customise your bracelet by choosing the design, the finish, the size and you can choose 2 leather or fluid perspex bands.

Les Georgettes
Les Georgettes Bracelet

As I mentioned previously you can customise your bracelet by choosing the design and there's a vast variety of designs to choose from in the Les Essentielles range as well as 6 designs in the Les Précieuses collection. The moment I saw the designs I fell in love with the intricate detailing and as you can imagine, I had a hard time choosing which design to go for as they're all so pretty! The bracelets in the Les Précieuses collection are embellished with precious stones and they're absolutely gorgeous too! There's also a few finishes to choose from such as gold, silver and rose gold as well as small, medium and large sizes so there's something to suit everyone.

For my bracelet*, I opted for the medium size, I chose the Fougéres design, the rose gold finish along with the Nude/Aquatic leather band as well as the Coral/Olimpo Laser leather band. What I love most about the bracelet is that I can swap the bands to create a whole new bracelet to suit my outfit. I chose the nude and aquatic leather band as I wanted to have a soft muted colour for everyday wear but I also wanted something bright and fun to add to an all-black outfit. I follow Yoga With Adriene on Youtube and in one of her videos she said "business in the front and party in the back" and that's what this leather band reminded me of. I can sport the nude side for everyday business and I can easily switch to the aquatic side when I want to liven up an outfit.

Les Georgettes ring
Les Georgettes Ring

I'm fond of mixing metals so, in addition to the rose gold bracelet, I also chose a gold ring* with the same design as the bracelet as well as a Lilium/Nimbus leather band. The Fougéres design is my favourite and I thought it looked lovely on the ring too.
I just love the orange side of this leather band as I think it'll work for both the Summer and Autumn months; The shade is bright for the warmer months and I also think it'll go really well with the cream, brown/tan hues I tend to wear a lot during the Autumn.

We all know I'm a sucker for some beautiful packaging and the jewellery comes in gorgeous packaging. The bracelet comes in a dreamy orange box and the ring came in a cute little pouch, both of which are handy for storing them in. One of the first things I noticed when I unraveled the beautiful packaging was the quality of the pieces. The leather bands are sturdy and I can tell the bracelet and ring have been made well. They're also both very comfortable to wear and it's really easy to switch the bands.

I was also kindly given a discount code you can avail of to get 15% off a bracelet or ring, using the code CLIONA and it's available to use until the 31st of August. You can create your own in the Create Your Own Workshop and it would be a perfect gift if you have any birthdays or special occasions coming up!

What do you think of the ring and bracelet?

Love,
Cliona xx

Hit, Miss & Maybe Products

Hit, miss & maybe products

Hit, Miss & Maybe Products!

We all have our holy grail products, the ones we use every day and recommend to everyone but we also encounter products that just aren't up our street, whether they're wrong for our skin type or the product just isn't good. Let's find out what products have made it to my hit, miss, and maybe list recently.

Hits:
First up on my hit list is the Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour and Primer in Peony Pop, a soft everyday nude pink shade. As the name suggests there's a built-in primer that provides the lipstick with a creamy formula that glides onto the lips effortlessly. Although it's matte it doesn't feel at all matte meaning it's comfortable to wear but it's still long lasting.

The Too Faced Sweet Peach palette has been my most-used palette in recent weeks. The pink shades are surprisingly wearable and they're a great way to brighten up my makeup for the Summer months. The quality of the Too Faced eyeshadows is up there with some of my favourite eyeshadow formulations.

I'm a blush enthusiast, not a day goes by where I don't wear it, and recently I've been loving my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat. The coral pink hue has been perfect for the Summer months and I just love the ethereal formula of their blushers.

The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer

Clinique Peony Pop Lipstick

Misses:
A foundation that I didn't get on too well with was the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. Unfortunately, this foundation just didn't sit well on my skin, it looked slightly cakey in areas, and it oxidized really badly after 2-3 hours wear so by the end of the day it looked completely orange.

My first impressions of the Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel were good as it was an effective cleanser that made my skin feel soft after each use. However, after a while, it broke me out really badly and I ended up with the worst breakout I've ever had. I know lots of people that love this cleanser but sadly it just didn't suit my skin.

I was recently sent a sample of Glamglow Gravity Mud Firming Treatment Mask*. It's a peel off mask that's supposed to leave skin feeling firmer and lifted, but unfortunately, it was a little harsh on my sensitive skin. After three minutes I had to remove it because it started to aggravate my skin so I didn't get to see if there were any results.

Maybes:
I've tried five products from The Ordinary so far and four of those products have been a success! The High-Spreadability Fluid Primer is an excellent product that works well but the reason why it's on my maybe list is down to the packaging. It has a gloopy serum-like texture but because the formula is thicker than a serum the pipette bottle just doesn't work properly. I don't know if I got a dud but my pipette doesn't suck up the product so I have to pour the product onto my hand. But then the product gathers at the top of the bottle and whenever I put the pipette back into the bottle the product explodes everywhere. As you can probably tell it's a pain to use so I find myself not reaching for this primer as it's just not worth the effort.

Another Rimmel foundation that I wasn't wowed by was the Wake Me Up foundation. This foundation looked a lot nicer on my skin than the Match Perfection, it has a dewy finish which was nice and it lasted for most of the day. It's a nice foundation but for me, there are better budget foundations that look nicer on my skin like Bourjois Healthy Mix or L'Oreal True Match.

The Blair Waldorf Makeup Bag

Tuesday 1 August 2017

Luxury products that Blair Waldorf would love

The Blair Waldorf Makeup Bag!

I love scouring the aisles of Boots for new budget finds but recently I've been saving my pennies to invest in some luxury products that I will get lots of use from. Luxury makeup is a great way to treat yourself to something of high quality without breaking the bank too much. And if there's one iconic TV character who certainly knew how to treat herself it's Blair Waldorf. For today's post, I'm sharing some luxury products that would get Blair Waldorf's seal of approval, xoxo.

The first brand that comes to mind when I think of luxurious products is Hourglass. Each product oozes luxury from the dreamy elegant packaging to the outstanding quality of the product itself. I recently added one of their Ambient Lighting Blushers in the shade Diffused Heat, a vibrant coral pink, to my makeup collection. Not everyone is a fan of the formula of these but they're perfect for my dry and sometimes lackluster skin as they add a healthy radiance to the skin.

Another Hourglass product I've been reaching for a lot recently is their Girl Lip Stylo in the shade Seeker. This rosy pink hue has a creamy formula that feels slightly hydrating due to ingredients such as shea butter and jojoba. This will definitely be an A/W favourite!

I have a weakness for highlighters and one of my all time favourites is the renowned Becca Champagne Pop. This is a cult product and with good reason! The peachy champagne shade provides a dreamy dewy glow to the skin. They've just released a limited collectors edition of the highlighter which is encased in gold packaging with a swoon-worthy embossment of a champagne bottle. I wish I'd waited to buy this version!

Charlotte Tilbury Kidman's Kiss lipstick was my first luxurious lipstick purchase and I instantly fell in love with the matte revolution formula. This peachy pink offering is a much-loved shade in my collection and the matte formula is non-drying and stays on the lips for hours. If Charlotte Tilbury's brand was around when Gossip Girl was filmed I'd have no doubt they would have used some CT products, particularly the lipsticks, on the cast.

For my luxe eyeshadow pick, my first port of call is the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Frozen Quartz. This rose gold cream shadow with its celestial frosty finish just looks magical on the eyes. It's quick and easy to use and the pretty packaging would definitely get Blair's seal of approval!

Nars is one of my favourite brands and although it's not as luxurious as some of the other brands I've mentioned, their products are excellent quality, particularly their blushers. My current favourites from the brand are the Unfiltered Cheek palette as well as their eyeshadow duo in St-Paul-De-Vence.

What's your favourite luxury product?

Love,
Cliona xx
