| Five Favourite Things In The Month Of October! |
The spookiest month of the year has come and gone but before the time comes to start getting into the festive mood, let's have a chat about five things that made me happy last month. October was a cosy month filled with evenings snuggled up on the couch watching some of my favourite shows, and as well as that it was my birthday so I was treated to a few new makeup releases. One: I treated myself to the beautiful Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 3 for my birthday and I originally wasn't planning on getting it because I have last year's version but when Space NK had £15 off I decided to get it. I'm so glad I did because overall I prefer this one to last year's edition! The two blush shades and the highlighter in this year's palette are far better than last year's but I'll have a full review and comparison of the two palettes up next week.
Two: Another new Christmas launch is the Becca Apres Ski Eye Palette which houses five of the famous Shimmering Skin Perfectors - Rose Quartz, Moonstone, Pearl, Topaz and Opal - as well as two new shades that are more like eyeshadow shades compared to the other five highlighter shades. For my everyday makeup routine, I like using a champagne/ neutral highlight shade either on the lid on its own or else paired with a matte brown, and this palette is perfect for those types of looks. There's not a lot of variety that you can achieve with this palette so I don't think it'll be for everyone but you can also use the highlight shades on the face so it's actually a great way to try a few of the renowned Shimmering Skin Perfectors.
Three: My next favourite will come as no surprise because I've mentioned it just a few times throughout the month. The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter and Hand Cream have been well loved due to the quintessential Autumn scent and hydrating formula. Both products are packed with skin-loving ingredients to combat the effects of the cold weather on the skin.
Four: My style pick of the month was this beautiful vibrant yellow cardigan from Penneys. This cosy bargain find has a soft material and is a slouchy fit making it even more comfortable. It's been keeping me snug as I wait for two buses for my commute to College and the sprightly colour has been cheering me up since the evenings have become darker.
Five: It was a good month for TV shows with the return of a beloved show and some new discoveries. Scandal returned last month and it's my all-time favourite tv series! It's a political based show centred around the US Presidency and the storylines involve corruption and lots of drama - There are a good few laughs in it too! I also started watching Designated Survivor, another drama based around the inner workings of the US Presidency. To embrace Halloween I jumped on the Stranger Things bandwagon and I can see why it gets so much hype! A must-watch! For something more light-hearted I started watching Salon Confidential, an Irish easy-to-watch reality show.
What are your October favourites?
Love,
Cliona xx
