Spring Dressing Table Details

| Spring Dressing Table Details! |

My favourite corner in my home is without a doubt my dressing table. This is where I come to apply makeup, to do my hair, to blog, to study, to think and to be inspired. I'm constantly switching up the decor on my vanity but after years of chopping and changing the decor, I've finally found a setup that I'm happy with so I thought I'd share my current setup in today's post.

I've had the Ikea Hemnes Vanity Table for a few years now and each year I grow to love it even more. Over the years I've deliberated whether to do some DIY jobs on it to spruce it up but A) I'd have no idea where to begin, B) I'm afraid to mess the table up and C) I don't want to do something trendy for it to go out of fashion in a few years. However, I think this is the year that I'll finally spray paint the handles of the drawers gold. It only has two small drawer handles so it should be easy enough to do and gold doesn't really date, does it?

For years, I had the Ikea Ingolf Chair and it was the most uncomfortable chair I've ever sat on but it was cheap and at least the white colour went with the table. However, rewind to last September when Sostrene Grene, a new Danish homeware and trinket shop opened up in our local area, and they stocked the most beautiful pink velvet chairs. I nabbed one for my vanity table (and my Mam got some for her dining table) and not only does it look pretty and add a pop of colour to the area, but it's also extremely comfortable! But that's not even the best part about the chair - It only cost around €65! Usually these type of velvet chairs are around €200 each so it was a great bargain find!

As for the decor on the table, on the left side, I keep two little copper pots with some lip liners in one of them and my eye brushes in the other one. I also keep my owl pot on this side of the vanity and at the moment I have my Nars All Day Luminous Weightless foundation in it because it's a bit leaky and too messy to be in the drawer with my other foundations.

I love mixing metals so on the other side of the dressing table I have a few gold touches including my gold Coach perfume bottle as well as the Ikea Begavning glass dome with a gold base. I store my Jo Malone Red Roses fragrance in the glass dome because I think it looks magical and forbidden like the rose in the Beauty & The Beast. I also keep a round white pot with gold leaf detailing on the right drawer with my face brushes stored in it.

In the middle, I keep more of my favourite products on display including my Beauty Blender*, my Zoella Snowella fragrance, my Nars lip pencils {collection & review} and some mascaras, eyebrow products and eyeshadow sticks in another round white pot with gold polka dots. And the main attraction is, of course, the faux cherry blossoms draping down over the mirror. I got them in Meadows & Byrne, and it's a cheap way to spruce up the table for Spring.

What's your favourite part of your home?

Love,
Cliona xx
