May beauty & lifestyle favourites

| May Beauty & Lifestyle Favourites! |

We're approaching the halfway point of the year already and I don't need to tell you how quickly these past few months have whizzed by! May was a lovely month for me filled with some cosy self-care essentials as well as an exciting parcel from my favourite brand. Stay tuned to read about my May favourites...

If you read my bodycare routine post then you'll know that recently I stepped up my bodycare game in preparation for the Summer. Now that the harsh Winter/Spring weather seems to be over, my skin is in dire need of lots of nourishment and a moisturising body wash is essential for me. This month I've loved a cult classic, Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash as the citrusy scent of Lime Oil and Kiwi Juice Water smells refreshing for the Summer, and the creamy formula makes my skin feel soft.

Another pampering favourite that's ideal for a self-care evening is a sprightly coloured nail polish. This month I repurchased an old favourite, Essie Lovie Dovie, after not having it in my collection for a few years. I used this shade every. single. day. when I was 18 because I loved the shade so much and it's the only nail polish that I've ever run out of - it's that good!

I've never really been fussed about haircare, as long it's washed and brushed then I'm happy, haha! But this month I got a sudden urge to put a bit more effort into my hair so I treated myself to a few new products from Umberto Giannini. I loved all three of the products I tried and you can read my full review if you'd like to find out more about them, however, the standout product was the Frizz Control Styling Milk. This really does what it says on the tin, it smooths the hair so it looks a lot less frizzy. I do still get flyaways but overall it's a lot sleeker than it normally is.

Charlotte Tilbury The Duchess Review

My dream came true in May when my favourite brand ever, Charlotte Tilbury, kindly sent me a lovely parcel of goodies to try. I've been testing out lots of the products and I can't wait to share my full review in a post soon! But for now, here are three of my favourites that I haven't stopped using since I got them:
You all know I'm a big fan of the Eyes To Mesmerise in Jean so I was very excited to try one of the new shades in the range - Star Gold*. This bronze-gold hue is the perfect addition to a glowy, bronzed summer makeup look.
I've also been reaching for two lipsticks from the brand, Stoned Rose* and The Duchess*. The former is a warm terracotta nude whilst the latter is a soft rosy pink hue, and both lipsticks are from the KISSING range so they have a creamy, moisturising formula.

It wouldn't be a favourites post without some lifestyle picks and my top pick of the month is an enchanting fantasy tale, A Court Of Frost And Starlight by Sarah J. Maas. This is my favourite book series as I love the characters, the fast-paced action, the magical elements and the enchanting world.

My favourite thing to do in the evenings to unwind is to curl up on the couch in my jammies and watch an episode or two of my favourite tv shows. This month I loved watching The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, a new comedy series created by Amy Sherman-Palladino who was the creator of Gilmore Girls. The show has the quintessential fast-paced witty dialogue that's associated with Gilmore Girls but the show is very different as it's set in the 1950s and about a woman who is pursuing stand-up comedy. It's a fun, easy-to-watch show that will have you laughing out loud - It's definitely worth a watch!

What were your May favourites?
