Beauty Picks For A Sunny Day

Beauty essentials for a sunny day

| Beauty Picks For A Sunny Day! |

It's been a good Summer so far in Ireland with blue skies, sunshine and heatwaves being a regular occurrence. I wasn't expecting these high temperatures and melting sun so I spent a few days in June getting my wardrobe and beauty stash properly equipped for this sizzling weather. Without further ado, here are five of my essentials for a hot Summer's day!

1) SPF:
SPF should be worn all year long but it's extra important to wear it during the Summer months. I rotate between the same few SPF products all year round but my favourite one of all time is the La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50+ Fluid. It's a lightweight cream that leaves my skin looking dewy as opposed to greasy and it's a nice base for makeup. I'll probably always repurchase this little gem!

2) Facial Spray:
Facial sprays aren't essential in my routine but sometimes in the Summer, I like to have one on rotation for a refreshing spritz. I love the Avene Thermal Spring Water because it's simple, fuss-free and feels refreshing and cooling on the skin. I also love the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist as it's packed full of skin-loving ingredients such as Linoleic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid.

3) A Light Base:
I'd love to go foundation-free in the Summer but I just don't have the confidence for it with my current acne flare-up. So a lightweight base is essential for me and it'll probably come as no surprise that the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder foundation is my favourite because it has a gorgeous dewy finish that makes my complexion look so healthy.

4) Cream Products:
I've been loving cream blush and highlighter products this year and they're perfect for the Summer! My favourite blush is the Fenty Beauty Match Stix in Yacht Life which is a similar pink shade with golden shimmer as Nars Orgasm.

I've recently added two Glossier Cloud Paints in the shades Dusk and Beam to my makeup bag, and my favourite so far is Dusk. It's a brown-toned nude so it works well for minimal makeup days as I've been applying it as bronzer and blush for a quick and easy wash of colour to the complexion.

My favourite cream highlighter has been my Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand which is my favourite purchase of the year so far! It's the dreamiest dewy highlighter that just melts into the skin and looks natural - it's the perfect Summer highlighter!

5) Glossy Lips:
I've been reaching for glossy and satin lipsticks recently as they're easy to wear and to re-apply. My favourites are, of course, the Luna By Lisa lip glosses, and I know I always talk about them but I just love them so much! They're creamy, non-sticky, very pigmented and the neutral shades are right up my street.

I also love the Revlon HD Gel Lip Colour in Dawn and I think this lipstick range is so under-rated! It's a glossy, semi-opaque lipstick that complements my minimal Summer makeup look!

What are your beauty essentials for a sunny day?
