Autumn Beauty Favourites...
There are so many reasons why I love Autumn and as a beauty lover, one of my favourite things about the season is the makeup. Berry lipsticks, copper, rust and burnt orange hues, as well as sparkly, iridescent eyeshadows can be found in my Autumn makeup bag.
1) Priming:
Autumn is a season of change and as the weather starts to become cooler again, my skin has to readjust to these changes. The temperatures have only dropped slightly and we've only turned the heating on a few times so far but my skin is already dry and ravenous for hydration. I've been amping up the hydrating and nourishing products in my skincare regime but I'm also stepping up my priming routine with the Erborian Bamboo Glow Dewy Effect Cream*. This primer has a hydrating gel formula that hydrates and provides a natural dewy finish to the skin. It's an extra hit of hydration that has become an important part of my daily makeup routine to ensure that my foundation applies smoothly and doesn't cling to dry flaky patches.
I've also been using the Erborian Bamboo Matte Powder Effect Cream* on my chin where I get slightly oily. The lightweight lotion formula feels hydrating whilst also adding a subtle mattifying finish and preventing shine throughout the day. Normally mattifying products don't suit my skin as it's so dry but this is perfect for people with combination skin due to the nourishing properties!
Another primer favourite for glowing skin is my Charlotte Tilbury WonderGlow primer*. The product contains minute flecks of golden shimmer which add radiance to the complexion and it also has soft focus properties as it blurs pores, creating a smooth flawless base for foundation application. It's just dreamy!

2) Copper Flush:
Another complexion product I'm adding to my makeup is the Becca Luminous Blush in Blushed Copper, a warm copper hue with golden shimmer. A light dusting is all that's needed for my fair complexion as it's super pigmented and it provides that flushed Winter's cheek look to my complexion. It's so pretty!
3) Twinkling Eyes:
For twinkling eyes, the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadows are must-haves! These glittery liquid eyeshadows come in lots of different colours and I have Kitten Karma (my favourite!), a pinky champagne with silver glitter, Smoky Storm, a bronze shade with silver glitter and lastly, Diamond Dust, a true silver metallic shade that reminds me of sparkly diamonds. We're heading into party season and these are perfect for creating a simple, fuss-free sparkly eye look. The doe-foot applicator makes them easy to apply and there's no mess or fall out!
For an everyday Autumn look, the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita eyeshadow quad is one of my favourite products. Eyeshadow quads are great for popping in your makeup bag for on the go application or if you want a quick eye look for your work or college makeup routine. The four shades included are a champagne highlighting shade, a copper, a rich brown, and a sparkly gold pop shade. I find the Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadows quick and easy to blend, and you can apply a subtle daytime appropriate look or a dramatic smoky evening look using the quad.
If you prefer bigger eyeshadow palettes then the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette is a great option for Autumn! The palette houses 12 eyeshadows ranging from warm browns to pinks to copper to deep burgundy hues. This is my favourite Urban Decay palette as the colour selection is cohesive and there's a good selection of shimmers and mattes to work with.
4) An Autumnal Nude Lip:
Recently I wrote a round-up of four of my favourite lipstick shades for Autumn but another one of my favourites is Mac Brave, a mauve-toned nude. It has a satin formula so it feels comfortable on the lips, even when my lips start to get dry in the cold weather.

5) Essie Essentials:
It wouldn't be an Autumn beauty roundup without a few Essie nail polishes and one that has been a favourite of mine for years is In Stitches, a reddish brown shade which is quite unique to any other nail colours I've tried. I also have two new additions in my Essie drawer from their Autumn collection - It Takes A West Village and Fall For NYC. The former is a light mauve-toned purple whilst I'd describe the latter as a muted orange, a quintessential Autumn shade if you ask me!
What are your Autumn beauty favourites?
Love,
Cliona xx
