Planning My Birthday Beauty Routine

| Planning My Birthday Beauty Routine! |

As you're reading this, it's my birthday and I'm 21 today! I'm so excited to have a magical day filled with yummy cake, pretty pink balloons, a lovely Italian dinner and to wear a beautiful beaded, tulle dress fit for a princess! You all know how much I love skincare and makeup so planning my birthday beauty routine was just as important as planning the celebrations *insert winking emoji* For today's special birthday post, I wanted to round up some of the pampering products and makeup I'm planning on using.

The Night Before:
I always like to have a little pamper session on my birthday eve and I treated myself to some new Disney pyjamas too. It's going to be the cosiest evening! I can't have a pamper evening without a face mask or two and I'll be opting for my Origins Original Skin Retexturising Mask. My skin has been extra dry and flaky recently and this resurfacing mask evens out the texture of my skin, revealing smooth, flake-free skin. I love using this mask the evening before any special occasion as my makeup applies much better and looks flawless.

Sheet masks are the ultimate pamper evening essential and I haven't used one in ages! My favourites are the Garnier tissue masks so I'll be applying one for some much-needed hydration!

While the Garnier mask is doing its thing, I'll treat my nails to a fresh coat of nail polish. My dress is a pearl grey shade and I'll be wearing pink low block heels so I've decided to go for a pink hue on my nails. Essie Lovie Dovie is a lively barbie pink shade that will complement my outfit.

Once I've taken off the sheet mask and finished painting my nails, I'll end my pamper evening with the Glossier Birthday Balm Dotcom. I had to include this lip balm in my pamper routine because as the name suggests, it's the perfect birthday beauty treat as the product is scented like vanilla birthday cake! It's going to make me crave cake all night!

The Special Day:
On Friday, I had a little pre-birthday shopping trip and I treated myself to a foundation that's been on my wishlist for a few years. The Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick is highly raved about within the beauty blogging community and I'm so excited to try it out today! A makeup artist at the counter applied a little bit of the foundation on me and I fell in love with the shade and the creamy formula.

Another base product that I've popped into my makeup bag is the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter to make my complexion look radiant and flawless!

Whilst I was at the Hourglass counter on Friday the makeup artist also applied some of the powders from the new Unlocked palette and I fell in love with it! However, I can't justify buying the palette at the moment and there are other new makeup releases higher up on my wishlist so I'll be giving it a miss sadly. Instead, I'll be cracking out my Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 3 (Volume 4 looks quite similar) which is just as pretty as the new palette!

I got the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette for my 19th birthday and every birthday since, it's what I've used on my eyes. It's become a part of my birthday traditions and this year I've decided to keep the tradition going. I love the neutral colour selection in the palette and the chocolate scent reminds me of chocolate birthday cake so it's perfect!

Seeing as it's a special birthday, I've decided to add a pop of sparkle to my eye makeup. I've added my Mac Vanilla Pigment and my Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Kitten Karma to my makeup bag and I'll see which one I fancy wearing in the morning.

I think a nude pink lipstick will compliment my outfit and nail polish the best so I'll decide between Charlotte Tilbury The Duchess* or Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo in Seeker.

The final step in my birthday beauty routine is to envelope myself in a beautiful fragrance and my pick for the day is Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia*.
