5 Things That Have Made Me Feel More Positive & Energised Recently...

These past few weeks, I've been dealing with high levels of anxiety and lethargy but recently I've added five simple self-care rituals to my daily routine and I've been feeling so much more energised and positive as a result!

1. Getting Up Earlier To Make The Most Of The Brighter Mornings:
I'm not a morning person at all in the Winter and I always find it so hard waking up as the dark can make me feel quite anxious. As soon as the mornings become brighter I like to make the most of the few extra hours of light by getting up half an hour earlier than usual to get a head start on my to-do list for the day or just to simply have a few extra minutes to enjoy my breakfast.

2. New Recipes & Switching Up My Breakfast Meals:
I've been trying lots of new foods and recipes recently but I feel like switching up my breakfasts instead of having the same thing every day is getting me off to a good and positive start to each day. I'm a creature of habit and for the longest time I had the same breakfast day in and day out but trying new breakfast foods is making me excited to get up to have my meal and it puts me into a good mood for the rest of the day. I'm currently obsessed with homemade granola and yoghurt!

3. Getting Out For More Walks and Daily Yoga Practice:
With the milder weather, there's no excuse for me not to get out and about more so I've been making a bigger effort to get out for more walks lately and also sticking to my daily yoga practice too; even when I'm exhausted and all I want to do is watch 10 episodes of Modern Family in a row. I feel so much better once I get out into the fresh air followed by rolling out my yoga mat to do some deep breathing and gentle movement!

4. Drinking More Water, Lemon Water and Herbal Tea:
I'm a quintessential Irish tea lover but I've definitely noticed that caffeine can drag my mood down a little. I've noticed a big difference in my energy and mood since reducing my daily tea intake and instead, I'm opting for lemon water, juice and herbal teas - peppermint is my favourite!

5. A Pampering Evening Routine:
I used to be a morning shower person but I was finding it so hard to unwind in the evening time and I've been having trouble getting to sleep too, so recently I switched to having my showers in the evening instead. It's been helping me feel much more relaxed in the evenings and it means I can take my time and make sure I'm moisturising every day instead of just a few times a week, lol *insert the monkey with his hands over his eyes emoji* I've also been taking longer to do my skincare routine, allowing extra time to massage my facial oil in, dedicating a few nights a week to a face mask session as well as painting my nails and using a hair treatment too. I've also been dedicating a little more time to reading in the evenings which is another great way to unwind!

What are your favourite ways to feel more positive and energised?

Love,
Cliona xx
