A Nude Lipstick Edit...

Nude lipstick lovers unite! I love donning a bold lip to give me a little confidence boost every now and then but I'm a nude lipstick girl at heart and I'm always gravitating towards them over the brighter lipstick options. In today's post, we're chatting about, yep you guessed it, alllll of my favourite nude lipsticks...

The Budget Buys:
The best lipstick formula I've discovered on the high street is the Revlon HD Gel Lip Colours in Dawn and Desert. These ultra-nourishing glossy lipsticks make the lips look so nourished and plump, and the slim, pointed design makes it easy to apply and re-apply throughout the day. Dawn is a mauve-toned nude whilst Desert leans more towards the peachy nude family.

The Liquid Lip:
I'm not the biggest liquid lipstick fan as I prefer a more nourishing formula but whenever I do find myself fancying a liquid lip then I have two go-to options. First up is another budget-friendly option, the NYX Soft Matte lip cream in Stockholm. The shade is an easy-to-wear peachy nude whilst the formula is non-drying, feels so lightweight on the lips and lasts for several hours before needing a top-up.

My second favourite liquid lipstick formula is the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips in Too Bad I'm Bad*. A rosy pink hue with a velvety mousse-like texture that applies smoothly, feels weightless on the lips and it's formulated with beeswax so no cracked, dry lips in sight!

The Lip Gloss:
My favourite lip gloss of 2019 so far has been the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lip Gloss in Flirt, a rich mauve nude hue with a high-shine finish and a creamy, pigmented formula; it provides a strong wash of colour so there's no need for a lipstick or lip liner to be worn with it. An easy everyday option!

The Lip Pencils:
The Nars lip pencils have been a cult favourite in the beauty community as well as my own makeup collection for years, and they'll probably always have a special place in my life as they remind me of my first few years of blogging. The Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Sex Machine was the first shade I got and this mauvey nude is a classic shade in my lipstick wardrobe, whilst the velvety matte formula feels comfortable, applies smoothly and doesn't make the lips look dry. Bettina is another favourite shade from the line and I'd describe this one as a more of a neutral beige.

The Luxury Treats:
Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are the talk of the town at the moment as they've just launched the new Hot Lips 2 collection and I can't wait to get my hands on one *insert all the excited emojis* But until then, I'm reaching for some of the classic shades in my collection. Bitch Perfect is a popular option and it's easy to see why! This warm peachy nude is so flattering on, the creamy formula feels lightweight but it still lasts well, especially when paired with the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat. I also love the shade Stoned Rose* which is a warm terracotta nude and another firm favourite in my makeup bag is the famous Pillow Talk*, a dreamy pinky nude colour that everyone seems to love!

It wouldn't be a lipstick roundup without a mention to the iconic Mac lipsticks and my top nude picks are Brave and Modesty. The former is a 'my lips but better' kinda nude shade and when paired with their Soar lip liner it helps make lips appear fuller. Modesty is my perfect nude shade with a blend of pink and brown undertones to it; it's one of those shades that just goes with every outfit and makeup look!

What are your favourite nude lipsticks?

Love,
Cliona xx
