August To Do List


My Goals & To-Do List For August... 

I know it's a cliche to say but it really is crazy how fast this year is going by! And August - December always passes by even quicker, so as we head into the last few months of the year I'm starting to think about some goals and plans I want to achieve. I've decided to share my monthly to-do list each month on the blog as they're my favourite kind of posts to read from others! Without further ado, here are my plans for this month...

1. Start Setting Monthly & Weekly Goals For Myself To Stay On Track:
I've never been good at setting goals, I've always been the type of person to set goals in the New Year and then only complete 1 out of 5 of them, haha! But this year, I've checked in with my goals every now and then and I've managed to stay on track with them so far - Hallelujah! I want to start setting more smaller weekly and monthly goals that'll add progress to my long term goals that I made at the start of the year. That's where this monthly series will come in handy as I can set myself a few goals and to-dos for the month ahead to keep me on track. 

2. A Night Away:
I'm really looking forward to heading on a little girl's night away with my Mam, my two sisters and my niece in a few weeks. It's going to be a relaxing stay in a hotel just outside Dublin with a trip to the hydrotherapy pool on the cards and I'm most excited about the breakfast - Aren't hotel breakfasts just the best? I'll take all the pastries, please!

3. Get Started On Some Autumn Content For September:
I'm going back to college in September after being on medical leave for a while and it's safe to say it'll be a busy month getting settled back into the swing of things! So I'm using August to get myself organised and get ahead start on some Autumnal content for my blog. I've already been having a little think of some ideas and I want to start working on some photos and a couple of blog posts asap to see me through the busy few weeks in September. I can't wait to get started on some cosy Autumnal content - it's the best time of the year!

4. Get Into A Better Sleeping Routine:
I mentioned in my evening routine post that I struggle to put my phone away before bed but recently, I've been easing myself off it gradually starting with 15-20 minutes and building it up. By the end of this month, I want to be putting my phone away an hour before I go to sleep and as well as that I also want to start going to sleep earlier too. At the moment, I'm getting around 7 hours of sleep and I feel so exhausted all the time so obviously, I'm just not the type of person that can function without at least 8 hours. Ideally, I'd like to be getting between 8 - 8 1/2 hours of sleep each night so I'll be making a bigger effort of going to bed earlier this month.

5. Start Journalling:
I've wanted to start a bullet journal for years but I've always found the whole process really daunting. Although I'd say I'm a creative person, sadly my creativity doesn't extend to pen and paper as I can't draw or do neat, pretty writing. However, I picked up a cheap bullet-style journal a few weeks ago to give it a go, and I ended up ordering a few new pens as my pen collection is currently made up of a few blunt highlighters as well as a basic blue and red pen that I've been using since I was in fifth year. I've been waiting for them to arrive so I can start my foray into the world of bullet journalling. I also ordered a gratitude journal as I've heard such good things about them and I feel like it might be good for my mental health to start one myself. However, as I'm writing this my order is currently missing and I'm really hoping it'll be sorted soon!
