A Cosy Rainy Day Edit...

Cosy rainy days at home are one of my favourite things about Autumn/Winter. To me, there's nothing better than wrapping up in a big fluffy blanket with a steaming mug of tea and a book, with the hypnotic sound of rain tapping the window in the background. And thanks to this selection of cosy favourites, in the words of The Temptations I've got sunshine on a cloudy day...

Cosy Clothes...
My cosy rainy day uniform usually consists of a comfy tracksuit or if I'm having the ultimate lazy day then I might spend the day in my jammies *insert the monkey with his hands over his mouth emoji* I practically live in these pink H&M joggers and paired with a cosy jumper or sweatshirt it's the perfect lazy day outfit! I also do a lot of my studying in this kind of outfit as it's comfortable but not too slouchy so I still feel like I can be productive.

Indulgent Candles...
As soon as I'm in my comfy clothes of choice the next thing I like to do on a cosy rainy day, whether I'm having a productive study day or a lazy pamper day, is light my favourite candles. I'm obsessed with The White Company candles and it's still a bit early to light my favourite Winter scent so at the moment I'm still lighting Cashmere, a calming comforting scent that reminds me of luxurious hotel bed linen; perfect for a cosy day at home! I definitely want to add the Autumn scent to my collection some day - it's been on my wish list for years!
Another favourite brand for an indulgent candle scent but at a more affordable price range is DW Home candles. I treat myself to one of these from Home Sense every Autumn/Winter! My favourites are Pumpkin & PeppercornPaperwhite Vanilla and Pumpkin Spice.

Pamper Treats...
You can't have a cosy day without a little pamper session and the best way to unwind is with a relaxing bubble bath. My current favourite bath time treats include the Sanctuary Spa Luxury Bath Float as well as the Lush Milky Bath Bubble Bar. The former has a luxurious scent that smells like a spa whilst the latter is formulated with soya milk, orange oil and cocoa butter that leave the skin feeling soft, and together they fill the bath with decadent bubbles.

Whilst my bath is running I usually pop on a face mask and my top pick at the moment is the Origins Out Of Trouble 10 Minute Mask, a clarifying mask that draws out impurities, making my skin less congested without drying it out like some clay masks can!

I always follow up clarifying masks with a nourishing option and overnight masks are my favourite! Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask or the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask are usually what I reach for. The Origins offering transforms my dry, dull skin and I wake up with a hydrated, plump and radiant complexion, and it has a gorgeous sweet citrus scent. Whilst the Clinique one is scentless so it's simple and fuss-free and does a great job at nourishing dry skin as well as soothing it which is great for when my skin is irritated with breakouts or eczema - a great option if you're sensitive to fragrance!

Reading, Watching & Listening Material...
After my pamper session, I like to unwind for the rest of the afternoon/evening with a good book, listening to a podcast/music or watching one of my favourite tv shows. Gossip Girl or Gilmore Girls are both shows that I can rewatch over and over again as they're the perfect lazy day kinda shows! Autumn is the best time of year for tv as all the shows start back after a summer break so I'm also loving the new seasons of This Is Us and Modern Family so far.

For something to listen to, I've really been enjoying listening to podcasts on Spotify lately! I started listening to the first few episodes of Lucy's podcast By Creatives, For Creatives during the Summer but I decided to save the rest of the episodes for my commute to college so I can't wait to listen to them! I also have The Good Glow by Georgie Crawford, Asking For A Friend by Lauren Conrad and Happy Place by Fearne Cotton to name just a few bookmarked to listen to.

I'm finally getting back into reading after being in a bit of slump with it and at the moment I'm reading Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas. I'm not hugely into superhero books/films but I used to love watching Gotham on Netflix so I thought I might like this book but so far it's only an ok read; it's readable but definitely not my favourite book I've ever read. I've ordered a few books from the library including a book about mindfulness for students so I'm really excited to read that!
