Planning My Autumn Wardrobe...

I have a wardrobe brimming full of clothes and I really don't need anymore but that doesn't stop me from adding a few new style staples when the seasons change *insert the monkey with his hands over his mouth emoji* I've been trying to be more mindful of what I'm buying this year so I've just refreshed my wardrobe with a few basic knitwear pieces as well as a few warm outerwear pieces to wrap up in...things that are warm and practical for college but still stylish of course! I've also pulled out some of my favourite pieces from last year too so without further ado let me share my Autumn style staples for 2019...

Knitwear & Basic Tops:
My Summer style is quite casual as I tend to opt for a jeans and nice top combo which is usually the easiest thing to wear when the weather can be a bit unpredictable sometimes. But during A/W I mostly wear cosy jumpers with skirts or pinafore dresses, so I like to have a few basic tops and jumpers that are classic and go well with everything in my wardrobe. Plain roll neck tops are a must-have in my wardrobe and this grey one from H&M would go so well with lots of skirts, pinafores, trousers or jeans. Another basic top I've added to my wardrobe which is perfect for wearing to college is this striped fine knit top; It's the perfect casual top that's easy to style!

I was in need of a fresh white jumper so I picked up this cool puff sleeve jumper from Dunnes Stores recently. Lots of shops are doing this style of jumper this season as I think it's a dupe for a more expensive version - This H&M one is similar as well as this grey one from & Other Stories.

An Autumn Style Mood Board...

One of my favourite things about Autumn/Winter fashion is the abundance of textures like faux fur, corduroy, tweed etc. that add a cosy vibe to any outfit. Corduroy is something that I feel is missing from my wardrobe so I have my eye on this corduroy dress from H&M which comes in a beautiful pink colour and I also love the cream version too - it would look so cute paired with a classic roll neck top and pinafore dresses are just so easy and comfortable to wear for college!

I also love adding some faux fur pieces to my wardrobe as the weather starts to get chillier and I had a voucher for some money off so I treated myself to a new pink faux fur jacket from H&M

Gossip Girl Vibes:
My biggest source of inspiration for my Autumn style is, of course, Gossip Girl, specifically Blair's style. Ever since I was a teenager I've been in awe of the beautiful statement coats she wears in the show, especially that gorgeous monochrome one in the photo above. My statement coat pick is this dreamy pink duffle coat from Asos which I've been contemplating buying as I'm lacking coats with a hood for rainy days but I'm not sure if it's the most practical option, to be honest - I'll have to think about it for a while!

I've also always loved the colourful and patterned tights that they wear but I never had the confidence to wear anything other than black tights. But last year I just decided to embrace different coloured tights and my favourite pair was definitely my white tights {Outfit Post}. There are some plain white tights in Penneys at the moment for €4 so I picked up two packs of those to see me through the season but I also love this patterned pair from Asos

Headbands are also the epitome of Gossip Girl style and I'm so happy that the headband trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon! There are lots of lovely velvet and pearl headbands on the high street at the moment and my top picks are this cream pearl headband as well as this pink velvet headband from Asos.

As soon as it starts to get colder I'll be swapping the headbands for chic berets to keep me cosy and I treated myself to this gorgeous H&M pink beret which is going to complement all my outfits!
