Gold, Copper & Berry Favourites For Autumn...
Autumn is in full swing and despite it being the rainiest October ever, I'm still enjoying hearing the crunching of leaves under my feet on the few dry days we've had as well as the cosy evenings in and lighting my collection of pumpkin scented candles. But above all, I've been enjoying dusting off some of my Autumn makeup favourites and adding them back into my makeup bag. Today's Autumnal beauty roundup is dedicated to my gold, copper and berry favourites...
Berry Hues...
Berry makeup shades are the epitome of Autumn and the easiest way to sport the berry look is with lipstick. I already mentioned my current favourite berry lip product at the moment in my recent Autumn beauty post but another, more long-lasting favourite is the NYX Soft Matte lip cream in Prague. Easily my favourite liquid lipstick formula as they offer longer staying power than traditional lipsticks but they don't feel drying like some liquid lipstick formulas!
If a berry lip feels too daring for me some days then I'll just opt for a berry nail polish instead. My top picks for nail polish will always be Essie and Big Spender is one of my favourite quintessential Autumn hues! This berry shade has vibrant purple undertones, making it brighter and less vampy than a lot of burgundies/berries you'd find around this time of year.
For the eyes, I usually reach for my Charlotte Tilbury Vintage Vamp eyeshadow quad* which is perfect for creating a vampy, smoky eye look with a pop of gold glitter. It's a great one for evening makeup but it also looks great in the daytime too, by simply using the prime shade on the lid with a small bit of the enhance shade in the crease and outer corner. I've come to associate it as a festive eyeshadow quad that's ideal for Autumn / Halloween as well as Christmas time so I can't wait to get lots more use from it this season!
My last berry-toned pick is the Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Palette. I'm so excited to add this back into my makeup bag as it has an incredible selection of berries, pinks and a rich burgundy for this time of year. The shades definitely create more of a statement look so it's not a palette I'd usually reach for on an everyday basis but it's perfect for fun weekend and evening looks - and I'll probably use it on Halloween too! The formulation of the shadows is as good as everyone says they are but they're super pigmented so I find that a little goes a long way and it can be easy to use too much product, just something to bear in mind.
Glittering Golds...
I have a lot of gold makeup favourites but I narrowed it down to my top pick of this year which is my Charlotte Tilbury Bar Of Gold Highlighting Palette. The palette houses three highlighting shades including a light vanilla gold shade, a pinky rose gold hue and a deep bronze gold. I douse my complexion with the lighter gold hue as it suits my fair complexion and I prefer to use the deeper bronze gold shade on the eyes - it looks unreal as an eyeshadow!
Copper Flush...
Finally, we have the copper favourites! My beloved Mac Copper Sparkle Pigment is still a firm favourite in my Autumn makeup bag. It's definitely more of a statement product though with its stunning metallic finish and the vibrant copper hue, it certainly adds a wow factor to any makeup look!
Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise in Star Gold* is an easier and more wearable option for my everyday makeup routine. The eyes to mesmerise are hands-down my favourite cream eyeshadow formula as it has the most beautiful shimmery frost finish. This shade is a lovely coppery bronze shade that's perfect for this time of year but it also works well for the summer months too - so a great year-rounder product!
For a copper flush on the cheeks, I'll be opting for my Becca Luminous Blush in Blushed Copper, a shimmery copper shade that adds a flushed winter cheek look to my complexion.
