| Life Lately & Getting Back Into Blogging |

What a few weeks it has been for the whole world. It almost feels like we're living in a film right now, the world feels quite surreal at the moment.

I've been feeling consumed by all of the news we've had so far this year with not only what's going on at the moment but the other things that happened earlier in the year too and it's starting to take a toll on my mood.

I haven't posted anything to my blog in over a month and I've been thinking about how I can get back into it to give myself a distraction for an hour or two each day. I planned a little blog break for a short while in February whilst I focused on my driving test and getting back into the swing of things at college but towards the end of the month as everything started to unfold in Italy I just couldn't get in the mind frame to sit down to write.

Across Europe, things are escalating every day and here in Ireland, we're in the midst of a partial lockdown with schools, universities, creches, pubs and some individual businesses closed as well as no large gatherings or events in an effort to implement social distancing to try to minimise the spread of the virus. As you probably already know I'm a university student so we're working from home and for once I'm grateful to have assignment deadlines approaching and embracing the stress of getting them finished as it's a welcome distraction at the moment.

I'm trying to establish a good daily routine at home to get a good balance between college work and my hobbies/downtime but at the moment my routine consists of working and spending my breaks looking at the news. It's safe to say it's not a very healthy routine so I've made the decision to limit myself to half an hour of news every evening and I think it's ok if we need to limit our news intake or mute certain words on social media to give our minds a little break sometimes.

As well as blogging, I'm also going to be fitting some at-home yoga workouts, baking (I baked scones today and next on my list is mint brownies!), short walks around my neighbourhood with my dog, face-timing my family/ringing my Grandad more often to stay in touch and some driving practice into my routine too. I have my third test booked in for early April and even though at the moment it hasn't been cancelled, I'm expecting it will be in the next week or so. Regardless, I think it'll be good to keep going with the practice for whenever I'll be able to do it.

I'm looking forward to throwing myself back into my blog for the next few weeks. I wanted my first post back to acknowledge what's been happening and I thought it might help to try to articulate how I've been feeling about it all into some words down on a page and setting myself a little action plan for how I'm going to keep my mood uplifted whilst spending more time at home - and it definitely did! I have some positive lifestyle posts planned to share next before I get back into a little bit of beauty content so I hope you'll like them!

Love,
Clíona xx
