Two Summer Scents...
It's almost time to roll out those lazy hazy crazy days of Summer and it's definitely starting to feel like Summer in Ireland with the sunny weather we've been having recently. Summertime means sweet floral scents to me and I have a selection of two dreamy scents that I've been loving this Spring and hope to wear during the Summer too. I've actually stopped using them on a daily basis since lockdown started as it just feels like a waste of a good perfume, to be honest, but if I need a little pick-me-up every now and then I treat myself to a spritz! Anyway, here's hoping and wishing that I'll be wearing these sweet scents on little days out soon...
Jo Malone Poppy & Barley:
My life mission is to try as many Jo Malone scents as I can and the newest addition to my little collection is Poppy & Barley which is the perfect summer scent if you ask me! With a top note of blackcurrant, a heart note of poppy and a base note of barley, this fragrance has a light sweet aroma but the top and base notes tone it down and add a fresh and a musky layer to the scent.
The only minor issue with this scent is that I find it doesn't last as long as the other fragrances I've tried from the brand which I don't personally mind as it's something I reach for when I want a subtle scent for wearing to college but it's something to keep in mind if you like a long-lasting and strong scent.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Sweet:
This sweet scent is not for the faint-hearted as it's much stronger and sweeter than the previous scent. The top notes include white raspberry, bergamot and crystallised cloudberries with heart notes of daisy tree petals and Jasmin milk and finally, base notes of sugar musk and white iris woods. The fresh and musky notes are harder to detect initially and at first, I can really smell the sweet berry notes but after a few minutes, the musky notes emerge and makes it feel like a more grown-up sweet scent. I can't forget to mention how stunning the packaging is too - it really is a dreamy piece to have on display on my vanity table!
